2XB Posted May 27, 2014 Hi all I am looking for a good sized Murraya koenigii or "curry leaf tree" plant in a pot that is harvestable. Brisbane area preferred but could travel a bit. Will pay, or trade if I were to have something you need. Or any tip offs welcomed!! Thanks dudes!!

tarenna Posted May 28, 2014 Please remove all the flowers or fruit from this plant if it is to be located anywhere near wild birds. It has started invading subtropical habitats in northern NSW and has the potential to become a bad weed. Thanks

2Deep2Handle Posted June 10, 2014 tarenna, I have seen first hand the invasive nature of this species, and it's common brother species M.paniculata, which is used extensively for hedging. Can confirm both are running wild all over the lower tributaries of the Nerang river, south of Mt. Tamborine, and Lower Beechmont. These should not be allowed on rental properties, where tenants let them go, thus putting on a smorgasbord for the birds. Same goes for Durantha , gold and geisha girl. Doublebenno, On a slightly more on-topic note, I reckon curry bush is better for use with cuisine than curry-leaf, but hey, each to their own.
