Paradeyes x Psycho0 seeds

Recommended Posts

Has anyone started this cross yet?

I was given some by interbeing, the awesome generous SABer he is.

Several weeks ago I sowed this cross and the reverse, also about 10+ other crosses of Trichocereus. Everything had great germ rates except the cross in question the reverse cross had something like 98% germ rate.

I the pot they we sown in cycle for two weeks in the bag. Then I removed and let dry out for about two weeks and it went back in the bag and was moistened again. I'm on my third run like this and still nothing........

Anyone else had better luck than I??......

Started mine May 11

So far results are the same but I will keep them under germ conditions for

30 days to see if it will break dormancy.

Hopfully the cross is capable of producing fertile seeds

- I have seen this issue with other trichs

No luck here either.

It hasn't been that long, but all the others sown at the same time are already of grafting size.

Hhhhmm.. So is it that Psycho0 x Paradeyes germinates well, but Paradeyes x Psycho0 not at all, or are both not germinating?

I haven't sowed these yet myself.. Bean meaning too, along with some really nice crosses I got from Oz..

Paradeyes x Psycho0 didn't germinate. I will try again soon drying them out.

Psycho0 x Paradeyes had extremely good germination rates. I will post some pictures soon they are stil sealed in Ziploc bags.

It's been nearly two weeks in the humidity dome.

Psycho0 x Paradeyes are germinating now - looks like it may take a week or more for all of them to sprout

Paradeyes x Psycho0 have not germinated yet - will check daily
I will give them at least two more weeks before I change the growing conditions - (some seeds are stubborn)

Somebody should try GA3 with these. A high concentration like 500 ppm.

I believe it is a name of an old member that has passed away and then some of his friends named an amazing bridgesii after him, and that was his forum name.

"Paradeyes" is a short-spined peruvianus or long-spined pachanoi that I took the liberty of naming after mating it with Psycho0..

Zelly I think I might have given you a small plant of this a ways back - it was a little midcut with some pups coming out of it.. I originally got it from Mitosis - it came highly recommended..

I have this cross but the reverse of this cross did not seem to germinate. I dried them out and will water again sometime soon. My germination area is a bit packed right now so maybe in a week or two.

Not grafted but here's one of pyscho0 x paradeyes on its own roots at 2 months - still has a lot of growing to do but it is taking on a little character!
