Psilocybin Mushrooms of SE QLD, Australia

Recommended Posts

Still crackin out there. Maybe another day or two and then things should settle down until the next bout of rain I reckon

If you missed the boat during this first flushing fear not; there will more than likely be at least one more significant flush before the end of the season.

A quick flick back through this thread will reveal mushrooms being spotted well into April, so more fun times to come!

Its a bit quiet, temperature is right just not enough rain I think.

Only a few pans and a tonne of old cubes.

This rain we're getting atm is great. ^ A bit more rain needed, but a few heavy downpours here and there should make it worth a look early in the week.

Even though my main spot was flooded I still got some awesome picks today. Heaps of cubes + a few subs and pans.

Plenty of em were only just starting to fruit so I left them alone, going back soon though

Subs?  You mean sub-cubensis?  otherwise that's the holy trinity right there!

If sub-cubensis then how would you even tell the difference? Isn’t the only difference the size of the spores? Did you have your microscope with you? If subaeruginosa then have to assume they were SEEN in different locations and would have thought it was still way too hot in SEQ? Not trying to be a dick just curious as to what was found?

I didn't take pictures or prints before drying unfortunately. I was referring to psilocybe subaeruginosa, going off their tan colour and shape; they were umbonate with a wavier cap in comparison to the cubes - really glossy too. They could've just been some good looking cubensis tho, I did find them near the same cow paddock as all of my cubes and cyanescens.

I'll bring my microscope next time

Subs are cold weather pine lovers and won't be found at low elevations with the temps we have in SE QLD, let alone in paddocks growing out of poo.

Must've been something else, but I'm assuming there was some bluing?

Thought I was done and over it for the season but @Pedro99’s mush porn pics got me itching again. Think I’ll be out and about for a nice early walk on Saturday morning.
