Pedro99 Posted February 8, 2020 (edited) Thanks Zonad! Yeh one big and two small cubes were hiding in some knee deep grass. There were also some old melted looking ones that I left alone. I'll attach a pic to show the cubes but I'm not sure if it's dumb to do so. Got a lot more pans than are in the pic, it is unreal. Edited February 8, 2020 by Pedro99 ignore that small, light orangey coloured one
Zonad Posted February 8, 2020 So cool! Rain hail or shine I’m going exploring in the morning. It’s a long drive so fingers crossed
-RC- Posted February 8, 2020 (edited) Ya just gotta have a good look aye. Defo some cubes there @Pedro99, maybe even an albino gilled one. Looks like a few different panaelous species there though, some actives for sure; I give any suspects a good pinch on the stem and hold em for a while to see if they blue. Pans do take a while to blue, but they don't have that fibrous brown stem of other panaelous sp. Edited February 8, 2020 by Responsible Choice ID

I snapped the stem and left for 10-15mins to make sure. The actives turned blue almost black at the snap point. I couldn't believe how many there were and so many more there still!
-RC- Posted February 8, 2020 Awesome Yeah quite the truckload pf pans today again, but a few more cubes around with some nice looking pins to admire another time. Here's a few tips for anyone out and about at the moment not having any luck; Try to apply a grid type search pattern (like mowing a lawn) when you scan. Make sure to periodically level change down to a squat or so to get a bit of a horizon to spot those wily pan cyans that are far more camo'd than their cubensis counterparts. Look under and around the tree lines
Zonad Posted February 8, 2020 (edited) Bro sent some photos, Waiting on ID but pretty sure He found some monster cubes and a bunch of pan Cyans. it is great having a supportive like minded group. Cheers! Edited February 16, 2020 by Zonad
Pedro99 Posted February 9, 2020 Wow that's a long trip @Zonad glad it was worth it for you. Nice haul of cubes!
-RC- Posted February 9, 2020 (edited) @Zonad Soggy cubes, and a bunch of pan cyans I reckon. Maybe a couple of brown stems in there, but looks the goods to me mate Edited February 9, 2020 by Responsible Choice
Zonad Posted February 9, 2020 (edited) Thanks! @Responsible Choice. Now for a vulnerable but learning moment... Bro is not known for patience and everything He picked was wet cause of the rain. Tried researching drying techniques but lost interest quickly. Found something on sticking them in the oven on super low heat (65 degrees Celsius) so took half and tried while leaving the other half to air dry. Walked away for 10 minutes and the oven door was fogged up and everything inside soggier than before - different though kinda like a cooked mushroom. Anyway He pulled them out and put them in front of a fan. The cubes had actually leaked a purple juice from them which was sitting in the catch tray. He drank that for fun and to see if any effect. Has he fu$ked half his stash or do you think it will be right? Think He might invest in a hydrator or stick to air drying. Dumb and learning... hope others don’t make the mistake now Edited February 16, 2020 by Zonad
Pedro99 Posted February 9, 2020 (edited) @Zonad I read that cyans are psilocin which breaks down with heat. I read that after having them about 2 hrs in the deyhd.. May have f'd it also. Edit: never mind, that was not fun. Edited February 9, 2020 by Pedro99
Swampdonkey Posted February 9, 2020 40min or walking through trusted paddocks and I stumbled across these beauties. Some of the largest I have ever come across. Pins aplenty hopefully there are some more good flushes to come if the rain keeps up
Strontium Dawg Posted February 9, 2020 A frost free refrigerator works well for drying heat sensitive things...lay on a wire rack or paper towel, leave them for a few days. They will get cracker dry without any heat at all... 1
-RC- Posted February 9, 2020 (edited) I have heard that dehydrators are good for such things, particularly those sloppy specimens that would probably go in straight away. Yes psilocin and psilocybin are heat sensitive, but I am certain that a good 6 hours + in a dehydrator won't destroy any activity, especially if you dry at say 50 degrees C. There is a cool website I came across years ago called End of the Game (https://endofthegame.net/2012/05/09/psychedelic-mushrooms-and-you/) where I think oldmate talks about a Calcium Chloride tec, where a whole packet of damp rid is put into a sealable container, with the mushrooms either on paper towel or on a rack, and then left to dry until crackerish. Or some such. I would advise against air drying for more than a couple of days in this humidity before a dehydrator would be essential me thinks... Spok Posted February 9, 2020 Nice weather for a cup of tea in the morning surly that can’t be messed up
Swampdonkey Posted February 9, 2020 I have tried both dehydrator and room temp air drying with a fan and can say just as RC did that there is no potency loss. If anything it is will help prevent over moist specimens from potential mould with the rapid drying method. I have already dried my find from today and have split it up into 0.2g portions for micro dossing this will be my first trial at this usually I’m a heroic dose 1-2 times a year type but I will give it a shot and report back.
Swampdonkey Posted February 9, 2020 Spore Print for those interested without the flash on. With the flash though the lines blur it definitely enhances the dark dark pink/deep purple colour of spore itself
Introspectrum Posted February 9, 2020 Hi everyone I’m glad we’ve been blessed with so much rain the last few weeks. I am new to hunting and I was wondering if anyone could help me confirm some areas I was planning to look in. Don’t necessarily need an exact location as that ruins the fun but I don’t want to drive an hour and a half for a dud area. Thank you! I’ve been following this thread for a while now and I can’t to contribute with some finds!
-RC- Posted February 9, 2020 Hinterland west of the Bruce would be my advice mate. Good luck! More pans this morning with a little more cubes around. Still a bit more water needed up my way for the cubestravaganza though...
Zedo Posted February 9, 2020 Kilcoy is a great spot apparently. I’ve never been picking in seq. But NQ I had a lot of spots. Worst part is finding the time these days.

Spok Posted February 10, 2020 I found my problem, well it was fun getting out for a ride but I think I have found my wall so I have been getting the gut rot and some feeling but nothing like I had as a young fella on other substances. I am happy I read on and found this piece of information it’s definitely not definitive but it adds up and is a common tread enjoy guys and girls . Ps I’m still going bush bashing on the treadly tomorrow

Someone told me that once, I'm think... I can personally verify that RC unfortunately for me , I am now tossing up the option/ benefit of slowly coming off the SSRI as I have been on them many years and the more information I am getting is telling me that they aren’t even meant to be a long term solution ( 90 days ) so it’s really got me thinking which is never a bad thing is it .
