Evil Genius Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) Crassiarboreus is Cuzcoensis. Dreamwalker, what do you mean with "reliable"? Edited February 26, 2014 by Evil Genius
Optimystic Posted February 26, 2014 Reliable? I dunno I was just there to fancy the pics apparently they're in San Diego Ca but I can't find much more about them... i'd rather contact them through that youtube vid rather than creating a membership tho who wants to be the first I don't think the website is complete... on the shipping/returns page theres still a message at the top with instructions on how to edit the page
hostilis Posted February 26, 2014 Crassiarboreus is cuzcoensis? It looks very different in the pictures I saw. I have some growing from seed right now. I guess we'll see what it is when it's bigger.
Dreamwalker. Posted February 27, 2014 Crassiarboreus is Cuzcoensis. Dreamwalker, what do you mean with "reliable"? Just wondering if anyone has brought seed from them and if the seed quality was good.............I never dealt with them but have brought poor quality seed from other seed houses...................I'd be keen on some of their cereus .................. Evil Genius Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) The pictures don´t match the names on the website. Went through the site and found at least 5 or 6 that had wrong names on. Like Boliviensis, Crassiarboreus, camarguensis, escayachensis, Trichocereus Aucapata and so on. The website doesn't seem to aim at accuracy and that´s ok. Its basically a seed store and every additional Product in the shop is a good One so to speak. Don´t blame the Guy who runs it though, as this is common practice in many seed stores and many of the bullshit names were introduced by other people. And some of the pics are quite good so the site isn't worthless. Just wanted to point that you shouldn´t regard the Pics as a representative Picture of the correct Plant. Edit: Never dealt with them, but some of their seed stock seems to come directly or indirectly from Köhres. Edited February 27, 2014 by Evil Genius
hostilis Posted February 27, 2014 I got boliviensis and crassiarboreus off of koehres just to see what they are. The pictures that kada posted of the boliviensis look like a nice bridgesii clone and I liked it so I got it. We'll see what happens with the crassiarboreus. I'll post some pictures when they're bigger.
double_action Posted February 27, 2014 Yeah I'll try them too and report back. Also....any idea what the far right cactus is? I want to say pachanoi but with the dark spines, I'm not sure. And Spine Collector PM me your address.....one of those is yours
Optimystic Posted February 27, 2014 it looks like a pach as far as I can tell... something about zone 9 and 10 weather, causes spines to go black on some plants... im not sure what it is but I don't think its a plant trait as much as it is just an enviromental effect, but obviously it doesn't happen on every plant
Dreamwalker. Posted March 1, 2014 I like the far right cactus..........D_A is it always that colour..............are you going to graft the top of it on to something?
double_action Posted March 2, 2014 I like the far right cactus..........D_A is it always that colour..............are you going to graft the top of it on to something? There were two plants, both all that same color yellow. It looked like they had full sun exposure, so maybe that explains the color? I'm going to root it. Optimystic Posted March 2, 2014 well I was just going by that youtube vid ... when you scroll down to the bottom of the homepage... its titled: San Pedro Cactus San Diego, CA... I googled the # and its a Cingular Wireless cell phone # so it could just be that the cell provider is based in Wichita Kansas or maybe he bought it at a corner store and then moved eh http://www.igcall.net/located.php?num=316-737-5201 my first thought when I saw "Kansas" was maybe its the Neuro Soup Girl lol the domain was established in 2002 however the youtube vid was published 11-21-

The Home splash screen says California Cactus, which then immediately scrolls to the right to land on a pic of a trich seedling, and as EG says they appear to be a seed only site. a whois of sanpedrocactus.com The whois is worthless since it is just the information of a domain name registrar. Lots of registrars offer domain name information shielding. Their facebook, youtube, and etsy accounts under the same name/linked all list San Diego, CA. I'd trust that versus the whois information of their domain name registrar. Edited March 3, 2014 by mira
Berengar Posted April 29, 2014 Crassiarboreus is Cuzcoensis. From my research, Trichocereus crassiarboreus is synonimous with Weberbauerocereus cuzcoensis, which, at least judging from the pictures on the Internet, is a different species from Trichocereus cuzcoensis. Kinda like with Trichocereus bridgesii and Echinopsis bridgesii. I got some 'T. crassiarboreus' from an European vendor recently and got excellent germination, can't wait to see what they end up looking like!
