yet another request for a ID on a most likely unidentiful trichocereus. . :-)

Question

Well I was lucky enough to be given these two lovely specimens today. I guess its a hard one but is it a pc?? The plant was huge and no limbs were overly thick, all kinda skinny.

There were fallen limbs everywhere performing an amazing resurrection!

Any input appreciated :-)

Could just be a skinny Pach or could be a Pach x Bridgesii. Have some crosses of the latter that are skinny like a Bridge but without the spines.

I have a bridge x pach that looks exactly like pach other then thinner (bridge) growth and the spines are slightly less spread out.

If you treat one of them like shit, youll soon find out if it has bridge in it. Delicate genes compared to my other favorites

If it is a huge plant i doubt it is a pach x bridge coz these have not been around long enough to become "huge" if you mean by huge a fully mature very large multi-armed plant.

PC pach will grow like that in fertile soils, plenty of moisture and most importantly shade. Then you will get a skinny and deep green PC. You are in the sub tropics my guess is high humidity would also promote this dark colour and skinny-ness. So my guess is PC responding to specific local conditions.

Yeah it looks like most of the pictures of "PC" pachanoi I've seen...although from what I've read it seems the term "pachanot" is more appropriate...this clone/cv/whatever it is seems to be everywhere. But it's too plain/boring (looking) for my tastes, and the only thing it seems to have going for it is its vigour at propagating. And I've never been a fan of propagating for the sake of propagating.
