True pachanoi or PC pachanoi?

Question

So I asked the owner of this cactus what it is and he told me it's PC pachanoi, but somehow it doesn't seem to look like any PC I've seen.

I'm supposed to receive 2 pups of it

What do you guys think?

I'm no expert, but from what I've seen and read on these forums, I would say that your cactus is a PC Pachanoi.

Looking at the shape, PC seems more serrated, 'True' Pachanoi has a more smooth contour. Also, it seems to have a deeper green colour than the PC version, but that might just be the quality of the pictures I have seen, not sure.

The way I see it, PC has thinner ribs, brighter green and the areols are like a "step" in the rib

Pachanoi has fatter ribs, darker green (relatively speaking), and the areols are(somehow) in the rib

Yours is PC compare it to the pic in the first post.

Hahahahaha, the owner of this cactus is NZ

But yeah, I only found one clone of pachanoi here nd it's not a PC pachanoi, I still haven't seen a PC in real life, I was even thinking of purchasing one to see how it'll look in my weather and I also like how it looks ;)

As you might have imagined I didn't respond because I didn't know. I'm not even certain it's a Trichocereus. Have you seen my flickr page?

Here's a pretty T. pachanoi in Ecuador.

On true pachanoi the spines point downward, on the pc they point upward.
