Massive packet loss enroute to SAB

Recommended Posts

I've been having a lot of problems with SAB lately. I can load this site and it runs super slow while everything else I load works fine.

I ran an MTR tonight and noticed over 35% percent packet loss at an unidentified Telstra intermediary server as I have several other times.

Has anyone else had any latency problems or packet loss & where is it happening ?

It could be a simple duplex mismatch, but that seems a bit extraordinary at the stage it's occuring. Another scenario would be some some form of dissuasion, but that would be a bit of a leap.

I'm such a tech-n00b. I saw the thread title and thought you lost a package from the nursery or something.

Those 'unknown' tesltra IP addresses are part of their international network infrastructure so makes sense that it'd hop there before hitting singapore.

As you said I can't see why packet loss should be occurring there unless they had some malfunction on the lines or their routers fucking out, but even then at that stage there should be enough line redundancy that malfunction shouldn't cause packet loss because it'd affect all traffic going from Australia to Asia.

I'm not sure if you've read into the 5 eyes network but that's the spot where all information passing through is likely being logged and stored as a rolling 3 day buffer of metadata... every call, every sms, every packet.

And if gov deps decide they want to probe deeper they flag you, intercept your traffic and run against a system that will generate exploits custom to your host - then it's going to occur there as well.

It's no longer paranoid conspiracy shit - the leaks are out and it's happening.

I've been noticing slow loading for a while now, well the issue is actually fully loading a page particularly the index page.

No issues anywhere else.

Thanks indigo you've confirmed my suspicions. I've got a pretty good idea as to what's happening I just didn't want to sound alarmist.

This is still happening consistently and seems specific to this site, I can run side by side mtr's -one to google or yahoo and the other to SAB and the route to google or yahoo shows normal ping times and acceptable packet loss rates

Your statement about being flagged and custom exploits etc. is interesting too, almost every time I open a new PM here I'm detecting an LSO being placed on my system. I've never noticed that before.

I don't know what they want with me, I don't even smoke pot. Maybe something something I've written here falls under the category of political dissent.
