Those pics are truly awe inspiring master b. I may have to take up the knife again and give grafting another whirl.

Here are some of Zelly's seeds that I sowed about a month ago. In the background are Scopulicola X Huarazensis. The foreground has TJG X Macrogonus. I didn't count how many I sowed, but it appears that they have a great germination rate. Thanks Zelly!

Wouldn't the spachianus x Juul's have been just self-pollinted spach? I got some spach x Psycho0 seeds from Stillman a few years ago that's turning out just like spach as well.

I didn't realize spachianus was self fertile.. That would mean the open pollinated is spachianus and the Juuls x would depend on the method used.

Nice looking plants you have there mystical

What I've noticed in my garden is spachianus is usually among the very first to open. If nothing else is open and the spach flower sets fruit, could a person conclude its self fertile?

I cant say for certain what my methods were in 2012-2013, but from 2014 on I typically collect the pollen from a flower, then cut off the anthers, then pollinate the pistil. Always at dusk/night to allow the pistil to adsorb the pollen before the arrival of the bees the following morning. Often I'll tuck the pistil into the petals and out of the center of the flower itself.

More scop x red grandi.

All grafts have different degrees of varigation and one is doing a little monster pupping... Probably just from being grafted though.

This first one is still on its own roots and doing a dicotamas thing.

I can't recall the correct name for these at the moment. Is the BBB what Zelly refers to as Big Bertha?

not sure but i think it may be for a bridgesii clone from bouncing bear botanicals ?

now you mention it though , maybe it is bridgesii big bertha ..?

berkley botanical gardens could play a role in the abbreviation?

what about big blue basterd :D

Haha, the Bouncing Bear Botanical possibility crossed my mind too. I think the e bay listing said BBB Bridgesii x Validus, it was a while ago, so I don't really trust my memory

BBB Bridgesii is going to be referring to Bouncing Bear Botanical's (Bridgesii), in this case most definitely.

yup

In this case BBB Bridgesii refers to a bridgesii sourced from Bouncing Bear Botanicals.

In 2012 I had 2 bridgesii's flower, BBB was one of them
