They look to me a bit like Slippery Jacks (Suillus luteus) and the cap usually slimy when it is wet. Edible but I still seek the best recipe and have always found them a little disappointing. Peel off skin and remove sponge and try to prepare dry as they soak up water.

HI Mr Blasty

Hard to tell from those pics. A few more views would help (gill shape/type, size, look when old, gill colour, spore print etc). It almost looks as though the stem ("stipe") is translucent? If so, could be some sort of Mycena species.

Foraging finds from last week, dry sclerophyll forest on the slopes of a small 'mountain' rising 200m, 30km from coast. Mushrooms everywhere after all the rain we have had. Not sure of the species or even genus for most of them, so they are posted here without ID, to appreciate their beauty. Enjoy!

I spotted these a few months ago, in Rosebery (Sydney), Thought I'd share as I too do not know what they are but this patch had a few differing shapes, might help with a possible ID

you have fancy upside-down fonts and you wanna know how i post pics? ;-p

I have a flickr account, they are free and you get email links to post ur pics from phone or you can upload dslr pics from computer etc. flickr hosts the pics public/ private or for contacts only to see (but you can still post private flickr pics on here).

I use it to back up all my stuff (tagged in folders etc)

it gives you the [ img ] hotlinks to copy and paste

easier than trying to resize phone pics to upload sideways too ,-)

cheers
