waterboy 2.0 Posted September 27, 2013 Hi folks, thought this may be a good way to group those up seeking the less than common edible/medicinals. Could be a good way to put a wishlist together, like most things seek and one can find, or others in their travels and chats...lol So to kick it off I am interested to know about if we have Agaricus augustus (The Prince) about ?
Zen Peddler Posted September 28, 2013 No prince But im very interested in any and all Lepista nuda culture and strains around. I love the blewit. Prefer Australian sourced ones which are probably more suited to Australian conditions. if you've tasted this edible you will understand why,
waterboy 2.0 Posted September 28, 2013 After digging through some prints I did make a storage print this year from the local blewits here Zen. Your welcome to it if you like, PM me and its yours, may need a some clean up - but reckon it would outgrow most things. Otherwise next season I'll be back in the position hopefully to clean-up and isolate clones from fruiting patches for a live proven fruiter. My stem butts to cardboard experiment failed in the end due to lack of time and neglect....too many projects...lol
worowa Posted September 29, 2013 Any Agaricus blazei? Morchella sp.? (I might have some blacks from a local Tassie specimen and yellows from spores, but untested for know). Tuber melanosporum or magnatum?
waterboy 2.0 Posted September 29, 2013 A.blazei was coming as a request, I'd like that as a challenge...haven't seen mention of it about.
tripsis Posted September 29, 2013 Laccocephalum mylittae? That would definitely be impetus to get me growing again. I would seriously love to try growing this species.

I haven't fruited it yet, but it is forming blobs (sclerota?) on agar. Very fast on agar.

waterboy 2.0 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) ^now thats what I was thinkin about...lol....Legend worowa I have a fair bit banked up, but dont want to firing them up yet until I re-establish beyond ghetto work at a time. Some cultures may be beyond it. Getting cultures spread out and banked is also an idea I was thinkin of Red . Once I am cracking again happy to spread my genetics about. I think we really need to get some rarer things happpening downunder. EDIT - I'm expecting the Shaggies to make an appearance soon. tripsis Posted September 30, 2013 I've got it, shoot me your addy. I haven't fruited it yet, but it is forming blobs (sclerota?) on agar. Very fast on agar. Holy shit, where'd you get it???! I wasn't really expecting anyone to have it. To say I'm surprised is an understatement!
Zen Peddler Posted September 30, 2013 A lot of people rate the flavour of agrocybe aegerita. Any experiences?

Been looking for ages-last time I saw it I wasn't a grower.

tripsis Posted October 2, 2013 Sent to me from a cloned fruiting body. Been looking for ages-last time I saw it I wasn't a grower. Amazing. Well I'm in no position to do anything with a culture of it now, but will definitely let you know when I am. Keep us posted on how you go with it. I've read the sclerotia can keep growing over 30 years, though don't know the accuracy of that statement. So it may be so slow as to be useless for cultivation. Zen Peddler Posted October 2, 2013 No love on the shaggys? I guess I'll just clone next may.
Shrooman Posted October 3, 2013 Just starting out, wanting to do my 1st proper grow with Phoenix oyster as I'm told they are fast growing and heat tolerant. Then want to move onto Reishi, Lions Mane, Turkey Tail, and Shiitake. Would love it if anybody could help out? Thanks Shrooman
Zen Peddler Posted October 7, 2013 I did about 50 clone plates yesterday of a variety of oysters and a few others. If they take and I can isolate Ill send them out no worries. Just takes time

Streaked the print(s) onto twenty plates so hopefully something sparks up. I think there was several light prints as well? If they take and when ive isolated I can send you one as thanks? Unless you are after something else I have?
waterboy 2.0 Posted October 7, 2013 Alls good mate, yep they look light on foil due to colour, when on black paper they really pop out. I've actually started using black and white paper for spore print IDs now for better colour definition, but always foil for storage. I'd be keen for a plate Zen down the track
