Jox Posted September 7, 2013 Just wondering if anyone can help me work out a name for this cactus? I have had it for about a year & have not seen it flower yet, hopefully this spring. Any leads would be appreciated. It's the one in the center of the photo looking at the tip Closer look at the spines Cheers Jox
0 M S Smith Posted September 7, 2013 Wow, that's probably going to be a tough one without a flower. Check out Bob Ressler's Flickr.com photo sets and see if you can find a match. http://www.flickr.com/photos/wwwcolumnarcactuscom/sets/ ~Michael~
0 CβL Posted September 7, 2013 (edited) Looks quite a bit like a Haageocereus. Following that family tree might provide some hints. Edited September 7, 2013 by CβL

0 Evil Genius Posted September 9, 2013 Jwerta, this one is difficult to ID. Weberbauerocereus pops up every now and then as it´s being sold by certain DIY Markets and Nurseries so i see them sometimes. They are very similar to Cleistocactus, Haageocereus and some Espostoa´s. Without seeing a flower its hard to say it for sure so keep an eye open for the flowers.
0 Jox Posted September 9, 2013 Well thank you all for the feed back, I don't know whether to thank you M S Smith or be pissed off , that is an awesome link you added but it has given me about another 100 possibilities. In an old book I have here, the closest thing I could find that similar to my cactus was Neobinghamia after looking on the net I found they had been moved to Haageocereus & some of those look close so thanks for your input CBL. Now EG has thrown in Weberbauerocereus & they look close , the good new is I think EG helped me ID aother cactus of mine, the one that is leaning in on the right side of the first photo I think might be Weberbauerocereus albus. Jwerta I know what you mean, you start to get a grasp on the cacti around you & then realize there are 1000's of cacti out there & you'll never have a grasp on all of them . I have about six columnar cacti that are all similar but have certain differences like the one in the first post, they all need to be IDed. I think I will need to get them to flower to be sure of what they are. When, if this one flowers in the future I will add photos here so we can work it out. Thanks again to everyone. Cheers Jox
