Yawning Man Posted September 21, 2013 ^^^^ Î saw these guys live a few years ago. I was just out with some mates, didn't know it was a metal night at the club we were at, didn't bother to pay much attention to the band until my subconscious started taking notice. They sound so awesome live. To this day I remember their set and how much I liked it. Just standing there tapping my foot to some nice heavy tunes

Wameron36 Posted September 23, 2013 Just in the last few weeks my heavy spark has been ignited again, this is awesome timing!I think Parkway Drive's always going to be my top spot - Something about his vocals get me all gooey inside... Used to listen to a lot more, but a few off the top of my head that I still listen to regularly are Meshuggah, Gojira, Lamb of god, Tool...Started listening to a group called Tesseract recently who I'm really enjoying, really good mix of harsh vocals with some just nice clean vocals as well. Not really metal, but anyone listen to Dead Letter Circus? The guys singing is just awesome.
Wameron36 Posted September 23, 2013 was, still am...tastes have become refined now....mostly black/folk metal these days Folk metal man... Brings me back to highschool - I use to love these guys! Their music was so epic. Would make you want to run around punching things with energy you never felt before, whilst simultaneously crying tears of joy and pure happiness.
interbeing Posted March 28, 2014 New Gojira Before all things reborn again You learn the painful breath of time Cold morning stretches out your arms To the mighty warmth of one golden sun Seems all have gone insane for gold All was created out of the night We're all born from the burst of a star The day you'll come to life you'll realize Expanding force of life where you belong And in the winter cold, with opened eyes You'll find the strength to fight and stand upright One day you'll walk the world and keep in mind The heart you've been given in winter time And through the bitter cold, with opened eyes You'll find the strength to fight and stand upright
-RC- Posted March 28, 2014 Got into Parkway Drive a bit there for a while. Go you Aussies!
incognito Posted March 29, 2014 I've just discovered GWAR! Unfortunate their frontman died last week... That would have been a very entertaining show to see! And I'm not even a metal fan. They seem like really decent hilariously funny guys as well, been watching a lot of YouTube vids, their humour is a "nice" kind of humour to, they don't cross many lines, just good natured humour - looks like a bunch of really awesome guys having ALOT of fun, the lead singer at least would have died after cramming more fun into his life than most people will ever know. J Smith Posted March 29, 2014 I like old school Metallica and I like the direction their newest demo is headed. Classic stuff. They lost it after the black album though so will have to see developments.
incognito Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) GWAR has to be metal yeah? Shock rock? I dunno... Anyways I'm a fan As much as I dislike admitting to being a fan of tool (tool fans are a breed of their own eh?) I burnt the aenima album and have been playing it in the front end loader at work at full ball the last week, that is a fricken awesome album in anyone's terms I think. coolname Posted March 30, 2014 Aenima is an incredible album. I heard a metal band the other day called dead kelly. They are possibly the most bogan aussie metal band in existance, but are pretty good. Check em out
Scientician Posted April 1, 2014 You beat me to it. Love Devin Townsend & SYL, Gojira, The Haunted, Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir to name but a few. The Swedish/Norwegian scene has been a huge musical influence for me. Here have a little listen to some now.

Scientician Posted April 1, 2014 I also still love Slipknot despite the hoards of trenders associated with them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHO-3ex7-ac
