hostilis Posted August 28, 2013 I found this plant growing out by my cacti. I'm not sure if it's morning glory, but they do grow here naturally and the leaves kind of look like morning glory. I attached a picture below. Can anyone tell me what this is?

0 hostilis Posted August 29, 2013 That's what I was thinking. After doing some research and looking at my confirmed morning glory plant that i'm growing, I Don't think it is really morning glory looking at the leaves. When it flowers i'll know for sure though.
0 upside Posted August 29, 2013 Yeah, those leaves don't look right to be a MG.
0 Bert&Ernie Posted August 29, 2013 Doesn't look like the normal morning glory. .. Could be some kind of ipomoea not sure what though.
0 gwalchgwyn Posted August 29, 2013 Good-looking green hearts, whatever the id. I can't tell from the pics if it's vining. But it is a dead ringer for a lilac-colored deciduous violet. I guess wait for the flowers to show!
0 hostilis Posted August 29, 2013 This thing takes over my porch and even tries to crawl and root into my cacti pots! It's a survivor.
0 planthelper Posted August 30, 2013 we would need to see a pic of the stems and branches, as it would give us further clues.
0 tarenna Posted September 2, 2013 ^^ Yep - photos of the stem and other features might help. Looks a little like a Piper sp.. But need more photos for better idea..
