Nemisty Posted August 10, 2013 Hey guys would like to get these two Acacia species identified thanks. 1st species: And second species: ( floribunda? ) Will post more species as I find them. You dont realise how many Acacia's there are naturalised around Auckland untill they all come into flower.
Vitalstatistix Posted August 19, 2013 A. longifolia on the first. possibly still longifolia on the second (maybe too yellow flowers for A. floribunda. pods would tell. Both are from section juliflorae from which most of the active species are from. Though in recent years many have been discovered from other sections. Weirdo Posted August 19, 2013 2nd species A. fimbriata ? Are there any Acacias native to N.Z. ?
Nemisty Posted August 21, 2013 I suspected the 1st species was longifolia. But I doubt the second one is... There's no native acacia's in New Zealand however several species have become naturalised and are a bit of a pest.
theuserformallyknownasd00d Posted August 21, 2013 They both look like strains of longifolia. The floribundas will have smaller leaves and more of em, flowers are more creamy and flowering ATM.
