Don't cha love it when it's raining outside on the tin roof, it's all dark-skied and awesome and you're sitting in your room with a woolly jumper, a dim lamp and a cup of hot cacao listening to it rain.

DCLIW You've got the munchies hardcore, see an ad for Coco Pops which look like the most goddamndest tasty thing you've ever seen in your entire life and you'd probably knock down your own sweet grandma to crunch down on that chocolate milkshakey goodness... and you remember you actually bought a box of that shit for the first time in probably years, just last week???

DCLIW, through some preposterous process of typing numbers & letters into a computer, a stranger will send you random awesome things via the post like tasty Belgian beers and UV lights. I feel as if I have some lured some internet demon to be my personal minion with the electronic equivalent of magic beans... "here Paypal, I'll give you this string of shiny numbers, and you fetch me a box of predatory insects & a uranium-crystal chandelier and a trampoline from Ebay and have them delivered by tomorrow, ok?"...and Paypal-demon goes "well, I do like numbers, hmmm. Deal!"

Credit cards are totally surreal, no one seems to notice.

lol Anodyne. I'm all-too-familiar with such Faustian bargaining myself

Although I read an interesting book on behavioural economics that spoke in part about credit cards and how we seem to not value the money from them as much or treat it as 'real money' (if that even is a thing) because it doesn't have the typical mental associations with money that we work for. Which is a recipe for disaster because on paper/in money-reality, the money from credit cards is actually worth MORE than the money we work for, because not only do we have to earn that money to pay it back, we have to work even more to pay back the interest. Corporations, from banks to marketers to casinos, love using our human psychological weaknesses against us. Bastards.

Aaaaanyway...DCLIW it's still raining and everything is finally getting green again :)

^^ that's not quite a snack, but it's a start :P

Try adding some roast pumpkin and capsicum, olive oil, and a whole heap of finely chopped parsley to the mix. THAT would be a snack :drool2:

dunna jus lurv hit whence a good buddy leaves a pack of snacks behind. Now, said buddy obviously brought them around o consume and enjoy together BUT proceedings swerved right, then left, then stopped in the middle, then did a galactic branson and hoofed into the sky and exploded , whence, when they leave they forgets to takes the snackage with them. You feel bad for about a day. You lookat the packet and come up with all sorts of licorice whip orange ideas as to what the snacks taste like.........so, being inquisitive, you open the pack(don't worry i'll buy him another one when i see him next) and you begin to eat.

WOW WOwee what yummy snacks these pumkin snaps are.

Then they run away and jump on their scooter to catch the train. i love hit and runners they possess freedom attributes. love them meices to pieces

Wow, three months since anything was loved?! Sooo...

DCLIW you get dumped, crippled, & fired, then wake up one day to realise that it's all ok, life is good.

It's made me wonder what else I don't need. :)

Don't cha love it when you tell someone your way (via a germinating tek) on what's a good way to do cactus seeds, for someone else to basically say it's wrong, then when they tell the other person what to google for a tutorial... it's the same f***ing one I used...

People...

DCLIW you finally get to pick up your favourite plants from an amazingly kind stranger who babysat them for nearly a year when you lived in an apartment and couldn't keep them.

I mean, they were completely etoliated and undernourished but I don't even care, the kindness is what's important, and that I have my favourites back so I can nurse them back to glory. Took cuttings to propagate as a thankyou present for them because they liked them so much...although I'll be sure to pass along some info about sun and nutrient requirements lol :)

Don't cha love it when you're sitting out back and your neighbor is watering her small backyard quite heavily, stick my head over and ask what she's doing..

"watering"

Can you guess what she was "watering"? Concrete.

I walk back inside, close all doors and windows and laugh, now I'm here.

Don't cha love walking around wearing polarised sunglasses... the world becomes full of little surprises, stuff that you look at every day... waxy leaf surfaces, cast iron, LCD screens, cellophane wrappers, and my personal favourite... tinted windows! One day I was riding the train home, a bit dazed and confused... when I looked up and saw this...

post-313-0-60905900-1424365482_thumb.jpg

In the words of Philip K. Dick...

There I went, one day, walking down the country road to my shack, looking forward to 8 hours of writing, in total isolation from all other humans, and I looked up at the sky and saw a face. I didn't really see it, but the face was there, and it was not a human face; it was a vast visage of perfect evil. I realize now (and I think I dimly realised at the time) what caused me to see it: the months of isolation, of deprivation of human contact, in fact sensory deprivation as such... anyhow the visage could not be denied. It was immense; it filled a quarter of the sky. It had empty slots for eyes -- it was metal and cruel and, worst of all, it was God.

This was all I could think. Eventually I calmed down and now on my train journeys he just bobs along beside me in an only-moderately-disturbing way... Hello creepy rainbow-eyed god!

Also just curious here Gimli, do you really love that stuff or are you looking for the "don't cha hate it when" thread? This one's intended more for the kittens-&-kaboodles happy thoughts and good vibes  ... the other one is for the sarcastic kind of "loves", more commonly known as "hates"

As I am continually forgetting, sarcasm doesn't always work in text format.

I would kill for a big-ass bowl of creamy pasta right now. So hungry!

DCLIW you're really hungry and craving something and you can actually get that thing? Well that time isn't now. But when it does happen it's the most damned exciting thing ever.

I really dislike being sick, but there is a silver lining... Primarily the guilt free ample rest, but also DCLIW you're sick and start to loose your voice, it goes all super squeaky and makes anything you say sound like its coming from the mouth of a small animated forest creature. Simple pleasures eh.
