^any positive identified edible mushroom should be started off small and worked up to a meal over a coupla days.

Lepista nuda (wood blewit) is another example where some can have allergic reactions (and MUST be cooked I'll add).

An individual can have a reaction to any mushie, and is worth noting if also having a feed and offering some up to maties :wink:

Pretty sure I've seen the wood blewits about. How do you rate them as food? Wiki recons they pretty good.

I rate them pretty damn good, strong flavour , goes well with game meats.

Wasn't sure at first...but now I am definately sold on them. They make big "fairy rings", and a tad pretty.

I only discovered them last year, when the decided to march through my property.

well its about fckn time....finally found a saffy milk cap site close to home.... they were hard to find around these parts have only found one stand of pine with them so far.
