Doesn't look like Acacia obtusifolia - might be a Dodonaea sp. ?? viscosa??

I'm thinking the same thing (Dodonaea). They seem to be used quite frequently in hedging as well.

An interesting plant with a history of use in construction and natural medicine.

No not obtusifolia.

I concur on the id as Dodonea, but would prefer to see better photos of leaves and branch before confirming id.
