I was thinking if I won it I'd get a 6m ladder with ropes tied to either side of the top ,stand it up against it, strap the top 2.5m to it and have two ppl on the other side of the fence holding the rope or tied to the tow ball of a car and lowering down once cut in half .

What do you's think ?

Contract with a commercial nursery to dig it up, root ball intact, move it to your location, and replant it. The root ball and soil alone will equal the weight/mass of the plant above the soil. Find a commercial tree company that moves plants of this size for a living. Insure it for the cost of the plant plus the moving cost.

what about the smaller plant in the first photo? the plant that just comes up to the top of the fence

thats the same isn't it? forget the big guy, the sellers are kinda mad expecting someone to be able to move that.

why doesn't someone just buy the little one, offer them $100 for it, i'm sure they would be wrapped to get rid of atleast one of the plants

They have already said they are not selling the smaller one, its an older bloke and it his son selling it for him, i have to be honest this is close to the impossible, i moved a tricho terschekki pasacana it was around a meter tall and just over 30cm side to side, it took 3 heavy sets to dig it out, root system stretched out as tall as the cacti was and abit, and 4 heavy sets to finally pull it from the ground and move it to the car, it was f***ed up, this will be done by proffesionals or not at all, im telling you now, unless you just want to sterilize a chainsaw/samurai sword and cut it at the base to let it root again, i dont see it even coming out of the ground with the roots still on it, these things are crazy heavy, i reckon one as big as this one here is just to dangerous for any one and there mates to dig out on the weekend, imagine if it snapped or fell, it weighs more than a tree and has very large sharp spines attached to it, who ever does win this have fun

Yeah, I thought if someone on here won I might offer to help out just to enjoy the spectacle but the thought of something going wrong is enough to think it should be left to the experts.

Holyyy Shit that is huge, i would call that a safety hazard if i had that growing in my backyard, don't want 500-600kg of spikes cactus falling on me lol,

if you are going to go through all the effort of transporting it then you might aswell go through the effort of digging it out and keeping the roots intact as opposed to cutting it.
Look for some tree removal specialist, i found these guys located in Melbourne, if you giveem a call please let us know how much they charge

this will be done by proffesionals or not at all

Agreed! For this to be chopped up, is almost criminal...

The seller shouldnt let it be hacked up either!

One of this size needs to be moved with respect, and also with some roots still intact! I stress this.

Good luck to the winner. It wont be a cheap or brisk task.
