Variegated???

Question

I would really like to know what these little plants are called
I have a hunch they were mislabeled...

Came to me labeled as Variegated Cereus Peruvianus... but I can't find any that look like this...
Possibly in the same family tho... Any ID'eas?

Just FYI, theres a 3rd little point which appears as a 3rd spine, but its actually a part of the aereole
There are 2 spines on each aereole. Also there is a strange little knob above each
aereole... for reference, the pot is 3 inches across or roughly 7.5 cm

Sorry it was really difficult to focus the camera on these

I'm not positive, but the spines look more like a euphorbia than they do a cactus.

Yep, I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head... looks quite similar to the spines on one I have here that I suspect to be Euphorbia Resinifera...
I looked at various photos and I think it closely resembles 'Euphorbia Echinus"... Im almost sure thats it.. if anyone knows better please respond...

Thanks Kykeion.. most of this mystery is solved I believe lol

Yeah I know... I was stating that I have a cutting of resinifera and the spines look similar... that was enough for me to believe it maybe euphorbia.. and then I found the photos of the "Echinus" variety ...there was another that comes pretty square tho when it has 4 ribs but can have up to 7 (E. Lidienii misspelled Ledienii on cactus art biz).. I initially thought it might be that one but 'E Echinus' is a closer match and im pretty sure thats it...

The two photos on this page are a dead ringer for that plant I think
http://www.metafro.be/prelude/view_plant?pi=05680

at least I know I won't be getting any apples from this plant... the girl told me it fruits but then sent me a pic of a non variegated cereus fruiting
It was only 3 bux so not a big deal and really not a bad deal for a variegated anything.. I knew for sure it wasn't a Cereus... I thought maybe
from the pics but then when I opened the box I knew for sure thats not a cereus...

Do you happen to know how to root a Resinifera??? Mines been sitting in soil for months.. and no roots ... Literally since around May or June of last year... plenty of heat too... after a while I thought maybe some roots had formed so I started watering just whenever I remember but I just checked today and no roots whatsoever... but the cutting still looks the same
