:):)

This one above was another seedling that was showing some strange growth from the start, but it does not show any yellow..

The whole plant is lime green..

Here are some other variegated seedlings, grafted from the same batch

wow what and awesome specimen dude, wish it wouldn't revert, but I haven't explored it enough, I just started up-potting them ozzie monsters..

So ...

I have been playing around with this Echinopsis , seynesii I think, the mother plant used to do a couple pups, but didn't seem to ever grow them.. now a smaller plant from a different source grew a pup enough to graft or even root, I left it be today..

I am somewhat fascinated by the the fact some monsters revert and often like to grow those reverts

and some negelected pachanoi crests from which I took couple cuttings

That's the pic of it coming home from the nursery.  I have it at work in a new pot.  I will take a current pic and post later.  I also trimmed it because out of all my cacti, this one was the most vengeful.  "De-fanged" maybe a better term.  She was bitey.

Here she is today.  She will over winter in my office window to root out then transfer to an azalea clay pot in the spring.

See, this is why we need gender-neutral pronouns people, so we can avoid giving offense to our mutant cacti....

Use of sexual terminology

Plants have a complex lifecycle involving alternation of generations. One generation, the sporophyte, gives rise to the next generation via spores. Spores may come in different sizes (microspores and megaspores), but strictly speaking, spores and sporophytes are neither male nor female. The alternate generation, the gametophyte, produces eggs and sperm. A gametophyte can be either female (producing eggs), male (producing sperm) or hermaphrodite (monoicous, producing both eggs and sperm).

In groups like liverworts, mosses and hornworts, the dominant generation is the sexual gametophyte. In ferns and seed plants (including cycads, conifers, flowering plants, etc.) the sporophyte is by far the most dominant generation. The obvious visible plant, whether a small herb or a large tree, is the sporophyte, and the gametophyte is very small. In seed plants, the female gametophyte, and the spores that give rise to it, are hidden within the sporophyte and are entirely dependent on it for nutrition. The male gametophyte consists of a few cells within a pollen grain.

The sporophyte of a flowering plant is often described using sexual terms (e.g. "female" or "male") based on the sexuality of the gametophyte it gives rise to. For example, a sporophyte that produces spores that give rise only to male gametophytes may be described as "male", even though the sporophyte itself is asexual, producing only spores. Similarly, flowers produced by the sporophyte may be described as "unisexual" or "bisexual", meaning that they give rise to either one sex of gametophyte or both sexes of gametophyte.[2]

Dawsons Short Spine Terscheckii x scop

I am very happy to say that i received inadvertently about 10-15 of these seeds and sent half to a mate in the USA.

of the 5-7 that i sowed all were variegated i managed 3 nice seedlings as the others imploded from being completely albino....

Again sorry for the rubbish shots... all taken hastily with my phone.
