xoma Posted January 3, 2016 xoma, this is the first time I see this. Me neither...I figured it's not everyday that this happens....but I thought it must have happened before somewhere. Hoping for flowers someday...but sadly I'm not in a zone with alot of growth each year....so patience is need as always with our friends. So others posted their dichotomes...here's mine:

Kykeion Posted January 7, 2016 I've got two TPMs that did a very similar thing. The growths grew from an areole, not out of one like normal pups.

irabionist Posted January 16, 2016 I don't think I've posted here in a long time, so here's a little update :-------) Trichocereus pachanoi monstrose (believed to be Altmans Monstrose) got a pup that terminated and then decided to un-terminate and go tastily inermis This is a graft of a pup from the monstrose that was all brain-like which has now crested Trichocereus pachanoi PC variegate reaaaaallly slightly variegated, very hard to capture with a camera, especially a phone camera TBM Long Form all grown up : ' -- ) and getting nice and fat Fricii Monstrose/Cristata suffered a nice cocktail of spidermite, scale and sunburn but getting better with the tasty new growth
Maxuel Powers III Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) Just an update on my Pachanoi tray. Gonna so 10 more trays like this one this weekend. These just broke the 1 year old mark, and are on own roots only, no fertz, pest chems or anything. If anyone has anything super special to trade I'll give yah some verified seed. This is the second tray I have done and gotten same results. Also have a couple hybrids from same mutated mother so hopefully those should mutate as much, but we'll see. Oh and this will probably make quite a few people mad but the reason the back center of tray doesn't have any seedlings is thats where my foot goes when falling into a Spiney Giant. Kykeion Posted February 4, 2016 Interesting little loph there Xoma. My though after the first pic was that maybe it just experienced some damage that made it go a bit wonky. But after seeing that second pic and how tiny it is relative to its siblings it definitely seems a bit weirder.
AbleKay Posted February 8, 2016 picked this up yesterday from a random nursery on the south coast and it flowered last night! looks kinda freakish to me, i assume sort sort of cereus, just not sure how freaky it actually is?
Milo Posted February 12, 2016 Picked this up last week. The lady I bought it from was convinced it was lophocereus schottii, but I see Pachanoi.

irabionist Posted February 14, 2016 FUCK IM BORED, So I did a bit of grafting and sat with my babies, here's an update..... Altmans TPM Grafts seem to have taken with one pupping :DDDDD YAY! Did some TBMC grafts that have taken well (....well some, other I'm unsure about....) Found some TBMC degrafts that I'd forgotten about which developed some nice roots so I've potted them up in a little bonsai pot Did a WHOOOOLEEEE BUNCH of willi variegata/monstrose grafts (which hopefully will take as it variegates white, yellow and pink and is REALLY FUCKING PICKY, LIKE SUPER PICKY as to whether it'll take or not! GODDAMN I WISH IT WOULD RELAX, still haven't been successful with any pink ones... yet) Here are some that I think have taken but I haven't seen any growth on them yet.... Euro Long Form TBM that FINALLY developed an areole got it's knob chopped and grafted, seems to have taken Monstrose Myrtillocactus graft (was completely inermis but after graft it seems to have developed spined areoles) Fricii weirdo graft last but not least, fricii cristata got attacked by snails (of course... out of everything there it went for the lopho crest....) so I cut part of it and grafted P.S. message me if you're interested in a variegated/monstrose lopho, mainly looking to trade it, that's if they take :---)P.S.S. would be looking for rare stuff i don't have, doesn't have to be of "equal value", as long as i want to look at it everyday then i'll be happy to tradeP.S.S.S. I really should leave these to the Swapping forum.... :------D
sagiXsagi Posted February 14, 2016 monstrosa myrti on graft seem to go normal for a while, before pupping and eventually starting monstrosa growth in each tip. nevertheless its a cool way to propagate cool grafts

Maxuel Powers III Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) Broke my tray up today and repotted em all. Heres what I got, you can see the non mutation samples in side corner, larger ones in 3.5 inch pots. and smaller ones in another tub-tray. Sorry for pic quality, when its sunny I will bust out big camera and get some close ups. Edited February 17, 2016 by maxpower097
