libertycaps Posted January 5, 2015 Sweet cacti there brothers & sisters, here are some of the freaks in my stable: Pics contain pachanoi crest type a&b (one makes monstrose limbs the other does not) bridgesii monstrose dicks type a&b (pornstar & short dicks)
hostilis Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) Those both (monstrose bridgesii) look like clumping forms to me. Where did you get them from? Edited January 5, 2015 by hostilis
libertycaps Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) There is a few etoiliated clumping type bridgesii monstrose plants in the back, can be hard to tell the difference in that state. Got all of them in trade from Australia & the states by some great nookers ages ago. Snapped a few closeup shots of the pornstar in the front: Edited January 6, 2015 by libertycaps
mutant Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) amp>>> you mention 3 different crest strains of the same species.. do you have them all? could you describe them / take a shot of them? What you call "mini crest" seems like the biggy crest of M.geometrizans... but it could be another strain I havent yet seen... from what I understand there is a melty crest which seems to be geometrizans (yours looks a bit like it) , mine is locally sourced. it doesn't do many long spines in the crest part, but it tends to go columnar a bit, then crest / go monster again, and on the columns you got longish geometrizans spines... the mini crest seems not to be a Myrtillocactus geometrizans... so not the same species... This is what I call the more cresty one... How long have you had the penis-like one, how does it grow? and here some others, mostly stenocereus marginatus crest Edited January 7, 2015 by mutant
Philocacti Posted January 6, 2015 These are simply gorgeous
mutant Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) them being beautiful is certainly not my fault ! Ok just one bit, I knew where to cut (6x myrti's are rooted cuttings- one flew to oz) Hey there's a dude in ebay selling stenocereus marginatus crests for 5 euros each. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171278538479?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Edited January 6, 2015 by mutant
hostilis Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) What I was saying is you have all clumping clones. Clone A doesn't clump like that though. It grows into really long sections. So you just have lots of clone B (clumping) if you ask me. Some are etiolated and some are healthy. Edited January 6, 2015 by hostilis
cactuscarl Posted January 6, 2015 It probably isn't clone A but there are more than just A and B and that thing is huge definitely not clone B imo.
hostilis Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) I think it is. They grow big if you give them lots of root space, light, and nutrients. The etiolated ones look to just be in really small pots and not getting much light. Edited January 6, 2015 by hostilis
hostilis Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) Here's an example. This is clone B when grown in great conditions. They get real big. Here's the long form. Not my plants. Just examples. Edited January 6, 2015 by hostilis
libertycaps Posted January 7, 2015 This dick in the closeup with the lighter is 35cm tall, take a look at it, notice all limbs start from ground level, then look at your pic see a difference? Dick in your pic has pups coming high and low because its a clumping type besides my type b has never grown fat pups no where near that tall. I know my type A is not a type B they are different individuals been growing them for years they are like family to me.
hostilis Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) In my opinion that one in the picture you showed is definitely not a clone A. I would call it a clumping form. Maybe not the typical clone B (still looks like it to me.) But we can just agree to disagree I guess. Edited January 7, 2015 by hostilis
mutant Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) hostilis dont get too hasty, especially from yr zone. the dude says its 35cm tall and that he got it some years, no type B gets 30+ even grafted... how long have you had your a and b clones? PS: not getting hostile hostilis, just saying... PS2: I have an idea. it involves rooting a large penis (type b, only thing I got) cutting with NO areole.... PS3: well how wide is that dick, if its 35 cm high? Edited January 7, 2015 by mutant
libertycaps Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) I beleive i got all those cuts 2009 no it must have been 2008. PS2: I have had a few of those areole less dicks around for years they root okay but all they do is stall you need a miracle before you see growth. PS3: Had a laugh about you wanting to know how fat my dick is then i went out and measured it, its actually only 33cm high i pulled a string around it and it measures 24cm. hostilis Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) Mutant. My clone B has a 16" (40cm) pup on it. Granted it's skinny. I'm just thrown off by the plant clumping and having areoles only on the lower sections of the pups. Which are clone B characteristics. But I don't want to debate it anymore really. I've had mine for 2.5 years by the way. Edited January 7, 2015 by hostilis
zelly Posted January 8, 2015 hostilis dont get too hasty, especially from yr zone. the dude says its 35cm tall and that he got it some years, no type B gets 30+ even grafted... Ok, so I've been babysitting some of Nitrogens plants, and thought it would be a good idea to take some pics when he brought them over. first pic, taken June 1, 2014 same plant, pics taken September 27, 2014 now if the standard BIC lighter is 8cm tall, how tall are these clones??? ps: the reason this plant remains stunted is cuz I've never up sized the pot like I've done with all his other plants

mutant Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) zelly these are type A, no? is it my impression, or the type A does longer spines than type B? Edited January 8, 2015 by mutant
zelly Posted January 9, 2015 zelly these are type A, no? is it my impression, or the type A does longer spines than type B? mutant, as far as A & B go, I've taken the high road. these are type C. Being C, they are neither A nor B, and thus not subject to disagreeing opinions on spines, lengths of growth, bla bla bla. I'll let the A & B'ers duke it out over what is what & what is not, but these are type C.
mutant Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) LOL.. Well I personally have grown one type for some 5 years. It's the short B from what I understand from discussions and pics about the other type(s). That's why I said IME there cant be 35 cm segments in type B. Also, both what you show , type C you say, and libertycaps type A seem to have longer (and more?) spines than my "B" . This is for Hostilis the last segment is ~18cm, and is a result of etiolation. IMO this can be done when a good base cutting is rooted then left to grow in a not so sunny position... I did this by mistake, but it creates a nice effect... Edited January 9, 2015 by mutant
