Which is odd enough, then consider the fact that its still winter, night time temps around 1-2degrees at my place. bogfrog Posted August 14, 2013 (edited) These seeds are throwing like 95% variegates and albinos.. Honestly. Most of them die very young because they cant produce chlorophyll. The seeds were exposed to extreme cold while ripening, I think it fucked them somehow. I must have had the same seed , 100% albinos, but i lost most of them cos had no peres for grafting , i managed to graft one only and have a few stunted ones struggling on their own roots if they make it through the cold i will graft this coming season. I think the T. spachianus is responsible for the variegation and albino traits - I got some open pollinated Roseii #1 seed and some look like spachainus, and most of the lot were variegated or albino - the Roseii was nearby a large spachainus stand.. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Jox Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) A nice new addition to show you all, Cereus something monstrose/cristate. I have not seen one like this before, I have a few monstrose Cereus which grow tall knobbly columns & I have a cristate Cereus which stays short & think & almost looks melted. Any this one stands at 160cm & is a BEAUTIFUL cactus despite being a huge pain in the ass to pot up by myself, here are some photos. A group photo, show the size of this Cereus (it is at the back on the left hand side) By it self A couple of closer photos Here is another of my little gems, I grafted this little L.koehresii on the 2/1/13 as a seedling. When I did the graft it was half red & half pale green (perfectly split down the middle by the two colours), it has turned into a lovely specimen.
