Sallubrious Posted March 7, 2013 Thanks for that link Ballzac I'd never heard of that before, I'd heard of similar damage from other chemicals but I'd never even considered it with wetting agent. I've been pouring it all over the plants and it hasn't done any damage to mine. Maybe some wetting agents are better at dissolving the coating than others ? Halcyon Daze Posted July 29, 2019 I was once told that molasses is an excellent soil wetter. I think it's because of the complex sugars or something like that. Anyway I'm sure it would be safer than the detergent based wetters. I'll be giving it a go soon. Anyone know how salts or fertilisers go as wetting agents. Diluted pee perhaps? Strontium Dawg Posted July 30, 2019 Kelp/seaweed is a great source of wetting agents. As the carrageenan breaks down it allows the water to break the surface tension more easily.
