Optimystic Posted August 25, 2013 (edited) here are some Macrogonus ssp Ebay.... definitely not the Icaros Macrogonus variety lulzThey are from two different USA vendors... well at least from two different ebay accounts... not sure 1st set: Some on their own roots... I got these as seedlings a year earlier.. I thought they were looking funny Then these came from the other vendor, I think both from the same state tho... I know for sure one of the vendors has multiple accounts but these might be a little different I dunno one of them is a grafted pup off another which did the splits! this guy is from the same batch.. a late pumper... I just grafted a couple more month old seedling of these in the past 10 days.. not many sprouted eh ... me like the spinys... I guess they are candicans or validus or something like that... a real joy to look at! Edited August 25, 2013 by Spine Collector
mushroomman Posted August 26, 2013 Man they are some nice looking grafts I really love the 1st pic in the 3rd lot. Do you know if the vendor still has any seeds for sale?
Jox Posted September 6, 2013 Well I better update my first post in this thread as that was the reason for starting it . My first post was all about my Lophophora grafts, well the good news is that they are all going well. The only exception was one of the jourdanian, it was a successful graft but had grown very little over the past 8 months so last week I re-grafted it, I will post pics of it in a few days. Anyway here is a bit of information & photos of my loph grafts. L. jourdanian sown: 3/11/12 grafted: 29/1/13 Day it was grafted Photos taken today 6/9/13 L. fricii X 2 sown: 3/11/12 grafted: 29/1/13 #1 Day it was grafted Photos taken today 6/9/13 (swelled a lot over the last month so I let it dry right out. It has stretch marks ) #2 Day it was grafted Photos taken today 6/9/13 (it is growing slower than the other fricii) L. koehresii X 2 sown: 3/11/12 grafted: 29/1/13 #1 Day it was grafted Photos taken today 6/9/13 #2 variegated Day it was grafted Photos taken today (I love this little cacti photos don't do it justice!) L. decipiens sown: 3/11/12 grafted: 29/1/13 This graft was growing very well, last most I gave it some fertilizer & a week later it had a big split on one side then a week later the other side split open, this is my first graft to ever split. It is healing well & I am quite excited to watch how it progresses for here. Day it was grafted Photos taken today 6/9/13 Photos of the splits L. williamsii var texana X 2 sown: 3/11/12 grafted: 29/1/13 I can't find the photos of when I first grafted these. #1 Photos taken today 6/9/13 #2 Photos taken today 6/9/13 L. ziegleri sown: 3/11/12 grafted: 29/1/13 L.ziegleri is an old name for williamsii, the person who gave me this seed collected it from there old plant which they purchased years ago labeled ziegleri, I decided to leave it with this name so I can keep track of it amongst the other lophs. Day it was grafted Photos taken today 6/9/13 L. williamsii X 2 sown: 18/4/12 grafted: 13/8/12 These are a bit older than the other grafts, I am hoping they will flower & set seed this year, if they do I will be de-grafting them & getting them on there own roots. #1 Day it was grafted Photo taken 23/2/13 Photos taken today 6/9/13 #2 Day it was grafted Photo taken 23/2/13 Photos taken today 6/9/13 Thanks for looking, I look forward to seeing some updated photos of your grafts . Cheers Jox
tizocAu Posted September 8, 2013 (edited) Yay update for my icaros dna seedling. It took on a pachanoi graft. So excited! !!!! Edited September 8, 2013 by tizoc4u
Stillman Posted September 8, 2013 i'd cut that pup that its grafted too from the main plant should increase growth.
tizocAu Posted September 8, 2013 That pup wasnt there 2 months ago. That why I grafted on to it cause all ths growth was going to the pup. And the loph on top of the main graft had slowed growth. Now the loph started growing again. If I take that pup out and its sept. On Nov itll be to cold to grow outside maybeby nnext spring ill try to root the pup. Since it just gave signs that the graft took and that both sions are growing im pretty comfortable
bogfrog Posted September 9, 2013 Alright, time for an update then. Sorry Jox, I will never be as neat and organised as you, I have since given away several of the grafts from my first post in this thread, and I had a spazz day and deleted all my loph and trich pics at one point of paranoia. Jox Posted September 14, 2013 Alright I will show you but looking back through this thread I realized that I have never posted about it here & it goes to show that you people asking for updates spend to much time on this site!! Just like myself . I wont put up photos of it as a seedling or young graft here because I am planning on starting a thread just about this awesome cactus & I will put all the info there & keep updating that, seems you are so keen I took these tonight getting bigger Took these photos with a light on in the back ground Hope that satisfies you all LOL!! Stillman Posted September 14, 2013 It doesn't appear to produce any chlorophyll or carotenoids. or extremely low levels of carotenoids maybe? Hows it handling light? I had Lobivia with pretty extreme albinism but when I put them out side they melted.
bogfrog Posted September 15, 2013 Incredible Jox. Simply incredible! While i'll accept that i do spend too much time on the forum, i do have a pretty good memory, and if this memory serves me correctly myself and others were asking about albi (have you named it!?) in the tek thread a while ago and you never brought out the eye candy!
