Psylo Posted February 9, 2013 I don't know. It redistributes heat more evenly so that different sized oxygen bubbles form in the liquid that you are cooking. DOnt really know the physics behind it. I think its called a saucepan minder.

Halcyon Daze Posted February 9, 2013 (edited) #5 is an ear trumpet I reckon... A corrugated ear trumpet to be precise. Edited February 9, 2013 by Halcyon Daze

Amazonian Posted February 9, 2013 Item #2 is a kitchen utensil used to evenly distribute heat from the burner to the pot, and avoid boil-overs. I don't know. It redistributes heat more evenly so that different sized oxygen bubbles form in the liquid that you are cooking. DOnt really know the physics behind it. I think its called a saucepan minder. As far as i know, the idea of a 'Pot Watcher' is so that it begins to rattle loudly as the liquid begins to boil, and you are made aware that the contents have almost boiled . That was to reduce it from boiling over. So, yeah, you were right... to avoid boil overs. It was when you said "saucepan minder" that clenched the deal, lol.
