Sydney Plant Swap - 02/03/13 @ Bents basin

Recommended Posts

EDIT : DETAILS NOW CONFIRMED - 2/3/13 @ Bents basin

Who's keen on a Sydney plant swap? It's fairly straight forward, we meet at a pre discussed location, on a pre discussed date, and swap/sell our ethnobotanical beauties.

We will need some general guidelines tho I'm sure, and I'd like to propose only legal plants are traded. Perhaps we can make it a family friendly location, pack a lunch, and get to know our fellow comrades? A lot of us are already acquainted, but a lot of us also aren't...

Ill see how the interest registers over the next couple of weeks, and if its happening, will happily help organise and make this happen.

If I were to suggest the 2nd March for a meet how would that sit? It's a month away so gives plenty of time.

Ill let other locals chime in on suggested spots, lets try and keep it close to public transport and relatively central to the general Sydney region...

Perhaps a botanical gardens located in the inner west / south west area of Sydney?

I am keen to get in on this as well if possible.

Maybe take some Canberra crew along. Actually I think that is only myself and Watertrade now.

If looking for venues in the south west perhaps Bents basin national park? Or somewhere in western Sydney parklands? It's pay parking at the np, but there's swimming In the river, toilets etc.. even warragamba dam maybe?

Bents basin looks real nice, my vote goes there too, and executive decision says Bents basin it is... All agree?

Feel free to suggest something else also, but it seems more sense to book it in ASAP so ppl can organise work etc.. I am happy to pick ppl up from livo train statieee and drive them as I'm sure other members might be also...

I know a few more than just us - some on the forums but a few off the forums.

Bents basin is my old stomping ground - there are probably patches of ground still unable to support life from my teenage attempts of finishing a 1.125lt Jim beam. ( I succeeded eventually)

its just near my parents place so I might be able to make it and stay the night.

Awesome to see this is getting some tract!

I've had a few questions re the format of the 'plant swap'. Ideally it'd be great if everyone had something to trade, whether rare or not! But as this can't always be the case everybody is welcome and I'm sure a few members might accept cash donations for their plants/seeds...

Feel free to start listing a few items you might be bringing to give ppl a gist, but lets keep all 'shotgunning' and 'Dibbs' till the day.. Ill have some coleus and heima cuttings, some unknown trich crosses (plants and seedlings) and hopefully some brug plants.
