Idon'tstudydinosaurs Posted March 26, 2015 (edited) Yeah I know, I only sowed the two to try it. They are about a month old now and going strong. I sowed another two a week ago and they have come up as well. Nothing special about it, just a drip system and I use 1/4 strength all round nutrient. theuserformallyknownasd00d Posted April 7, 2015 Yeh man they're crazy plants growth wise hey! Here are some of my kanna plants that'll hopefully takeover the entire bottom half of my cactus mound, I got two at either end and it'll meet sooner or later. Then I'll take all the succulents out and replace with trichs. There's no shortage of trichs to plant I'm just making a pretty penny on the succulents as cuttings etc so I'll delay any extra in ground trichs! Here's a lampranthus "pink lady" taking over the opposite side of the bosseranum, got some geeky trichs in the pic, more so than the lampranthus haha

Brendo Posted April 12, 2015 I've just begun planning my 2nd in-ground garden, it's in an area of my backyard which was covered in leaves, weeds and an old wooden rabbit cage transformed into a grass-clipping rubbish bin lol. I placed potted plants along the weeds to border it off, but this weekend I finally got around to moving all the pots to a temporary area, cutting away the weeds and raking the leaves. Over the next few weekends I'll dismantle the rabbit cage and probably just burn it all. Most of the plants in the pots will be planted there, these include Brugs, Datura, Chillis, Aloe, Agave, Aeonium, Euphorbia, Pereskiopsis, two fruit trees and a few of my nicer Trichs. I'll keep a few shady areas along the fence free for sub patches etc. I'm pretty excited, the soil seems to be in good nick too so I'll just add some more soil to raise it a bit, sand, perlite, some gravel and mix it all up really well. This undecided as to whether I want to make a raised bed or just slope it down. Agave, Aloe, Aeonium, all desperately needing to stretch their legs. Scored these two at bunnings yesterday Peanut butter fruit tree A kind of Pawpaw from Panama, the cultivar is called Champagne Fruit. This thing has been fruiting for months, I'm glad one of the fruits is beginning to ripen I received a 2m tall Scop from a member here (thankyou!), the 1m tip is in my Trich garden, the other is here so I'm gonna throw it into the new garden, log style, I'll probably make that the main feauture. Peruvianus is definitely going in, I love the look of that Pach too, so come spring it'll hopefully be a bit bigger, I'll cut, callous and plant into the new garden.. Just discovered one of the Brugs is about to flower too, bonus!
rogdog Posted April 13, 2015 I fertilized most plants today, and stared at brugs some more.

Micromegas Posted April 13, 2015 While I am playing with photos this season i managed to grow my first anadenathera columbrina var cebil seeds! It took a few years for the plants to cope with the cold in my location, always dying back somewhat in winter (at first completely then at the branch tips) and being attacked by lerp-herding sugar ant bastards! But apparently no longer! Original plant courtesy of the master gardener t st tantra. Interestingly this year the sugar ants appear to have been replaced by benign bull ants living on the branches, I guess they keep the little ants away and no lerp.
shonman Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) Listened to the wind, the sound of little frogs singing their mating songs, transplanted cacti, attended M. Speciosa motherplants and cuttings, started ginseng into disinfected/ functionally sterile culture for micropropagation / division. ...and sat around daydreaming about times in Hawaii with my long gone fiancée, felt sad.....had a smoke.... ...it is a beautiful day in the present! ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) After encouragement by a legendary SAB'er ... I decided to go for it and grow Tabernanthe iboga and fit it into my rainforest box somehow, at some point in the near future... all permitting, and named the little project " I Bogan " I figured since it's scorching hot right now, that it might as well be the best time to try and aquire a plant , one way or other.. If it seems to lag in the RFB I'll make it a special pod and stuffs . hows anybody's Ibo plants going? would love to see them and learn how to best love these beauties! ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted April 23, 2015 (edited) Rawrz ^^^ unpacked a beautiful Tabby bogan , upsized it's pot to the old psychotria nervosa pot (it had died).. and bunged it at the rainforest box. As it landed, it slotted in place perfectly; without spilling a crumb harvested some salvia and souped up the RFB with some blue crystal (miracle grow) the white aya seedlings lookn good , so is one viridis and one alicia anisopetala... down to one caupuri seedling tho .. psychotria carthagenensis/alba doing almost too well x] removed the fukien tea , seemed way too hot in there for it, and what a perfect heatwave for iboga to finally move in Edited April 23, 2015 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
shonman Posted April 25, 2015 (edited) Took care of the kratom motherplants, moved some cacti outdoors. Dug up one I planted too early...placed it in a planter so I could move it inside if it gets cold and rainy for too long.. Mixed sterile soilless mixture for planting goldenseal, disinfected one gallon pots, washed, disinfected goldenseal roots, ten total. Sterilized soil less mix, measured out enough for nine one gallon pots....trying not to breathe the dust. These goldenseal are going into the soiless mix, then indoors into the semi trailer plant lab/ controlled environment. They will grow out with less bacteria and fungi this way. I am going to do micropropagation on these, the tech uses leaves and some use new shoots. The original root was well cleaned, but with all the folds and being that it came from a nursery / in the ground It seems better to clean it up then work from new growth to get a functionally sterile culture from which to proliferate these plants en masse. Also disinfected sixty five ginseng seeds, which will be placed in test tubes to grow out without contamination, as a source of plant material for micropropagation of ginseng, too. shonman Posted April 26, 2015 Thanks! I think I will take step by step photos of the ginseng and goldenseal project, and post if interesting. Just a couple of weeks ago, someone was giving a talk at a medicinal plant society, and did not have enough photos. The pictures from my last ginseng and mitragyna speciosa project was helpful to them. So, it did seem worth doing
IceCube Posted April 26, 2015 (edited) Some 20 day old erythroxylum australe seedlings. Had about a 30% germination rate by putting them in coir in a zip-loc bag. Inside the bag, they were quite etiolated, so next time I will go in a chinese container so they have light.
