brought Acacia acuminatapost-14443-0-06944100-1415231699_thumb.jindoors on account of "first of the year's frost fears" and to spend full moon and winter with pa  - even if it was only one freeze.. thankfully the rain has scuppered jack frost's agenda for now

rfb doing fine with the extra heat padpost-14443-0-72420000-1415232350_thumb.jand the fan on constantly -or at least while the lights are on...

and at last!post-14443-0-61680200-1415304980_thumb.j-last time this happened, so did acacia victoriae, perhaps its the right time of year (temps wise) to re-try her too

I think I've managed to save salvia , phewpost-14443-0-86079000-1415311333_thumb.j

^^ I love your RFB thunder horse! And I hope those peregrinas go well for you :D

I finally got around to potting the last of some cactus cuttings I was sent a couple weeks ago. Finally got a small bamboo screen up to shade our lovelies from direct sunlight and more losses to the bunnies. Our cherry tomatoes are nearly ripe, as are three other heirloom tomatoes. I just can't describe how much I love having herbs and stuff, although you all know what I'm talking about :) I'm right now drinking hydralyte with some vodka infusion of bits and pieces of what's around. Tastes like singed ass hair but it's gotta be good, amirite??

The hostilis at the back keeps copping leaf entanglement from cat hair and father christmas'. The cats love the lemongrass, and the giant sunflower's getting bigger

th_P1010688.jpg

This lady in flower I got from someone here - if you recognise it :D - my first loph to do so and there's two. Can't wait to collect seed and attempt germination!

th_P1010669.jpg

th_P1010745.jpg

th_P1010666.jpg

Sinicuichi doing just fine, new addition this one.

th_P1010687.jpg

And the second lady to flower! Someone else will recognise this one, too :)

th_P1010716.jpg

th_P1010712.jpg

Nearly lost this guy about two months ago! One head is quite scarred but after drying and repotting he's come back ok :)

th_P1010676.jpg

Narrow leaf cathy on the left is doing awesomely, even sprouting from underneath the gravel. The red variety on the right needs to be repotting now I think, and watered a little more

th_P1010694.jpg

Caapis going beautifully!

th_P1010696.jpg

Brug going off :D Little brug needs repotting too.

Thank you kindly fancy pants , love your plantasia/garden of eden too , spesh kitty :3
Mimo'es trichomes are like velcro arent they lol
(at least cat hair is a lot more fun to remove from them than cat victims feathers from outdoor growery :P )
and I found , in my experience, fire/singeing to be only 50% successful; at worst losing all growth above the burn site :innocent_n:

im a bit iffy atm on the peregrinas, i resowed another seed after one only developed cotyledons n nothing else ...just 4 left for reload .
the one that was doing well shed all its phyllodes or whatever theyre called since I added kitty litter DE last night to it and scabrella..
I may have shaken them off.. growing tip looks like its good to go still though ..

and scabrella hasnt even past the cotyledon stage yet so.. all good so far with them

....

today i just changed the fan for some cuter yet meaner graphics card windmills that suck instead of blow :0

(i was expecting it to be the other way round)

perhaps i could add a few to the mesh on the windows to create a directional flow when there isnt a natural one... anyhoo...
I figured I can possibly eliminate condensation from the led holding glass tubes...making better light flow, keeping them slightly cooler than they would be normally .. thus hopefully enhancing the LED life-span a tad post-14443-0-25658700-1416005148_thumb.jAnd get all the air flow in the RFB without blowing a constant gale ... although that was very nice to look at... made the bottom leaves on the viridis have slightly crispy edges

and we cant have that now can we?post-14443-0-94226300-1416010602_thumb.j

well so far these fans appear to be the cats ass ...post-14443-0-83925800-1416005155_thumb.j
I must get more and put them EVERYWHERE!!!
maybe I can line the roof with them to capture some electricity while I'm at it and make a windmill skin... shrug

... wdnt it be cool if shark skin under a microscope was a krillion windmills per square mm..

and judging by the blood flowing from my knuckle after one bit me... I sure hope no little uninvited critters fly in

and...... here's some progress past cotyledon stage proving very enjoyable to watchpost-14443-0-40048500-1416005204_thumb.jpost-14443-0-69732900-1416005242_thumb.j :)

... so after all that fanning about I switched them off, put them away, added the old fan to the cactus tankpost-14443-0-84826700-1416053335_thumb.j and I'm sure this looks like an Acacia victoriae to mepost-14443-0-28932100-1416053343_thumb.j : p

my first mandrakes are flowering and I think I saw a couple seedlings too ( had thrown some seeds in some pots) - baby leaves look like daturas and the second one like mandrake so they must be it. Yoohoo! :)

I also had some crocus safran bulbs in a pot, they didn't flower last year only threw leaves, but they did this year , I thought these were spring flowerers in our hemisphere of course......

First post

I noticed my single Argyreia nervosa is popping it's head up. I had 2 seeds 1 of which I accidentaly cut in half scarifying the survivor has thankfully germinated.

My psychotria viridis seedling is looking very healthy though my psychotria carthagenensis is wilting a bit and showing browning :(

My recently rooted T. pachanoi, bridgesii and peruvianus cuttings are just staring to put on new growth.

Acacia acuminata seedling is happy but nothing happening wih the maidenii seeds.

well done.

nicking/scarifying is a bit of an art- weve all fucked it up at some stage.

Some pics of your P. carth would be handy if you would like some help in determining whats going on.

welcome.

My sacred garden is looking more rectangular and aluminum than ever before!!

I am setting up in an insulated semi trailer for intensive propagation.

Here are my Mityragyna Speciosa motherplants,

ready to be moved soon, for producing conventional cuttings.

I also have lots of functionally sterile explants for micropropagation.

(the one plant on the right was produced that way)

D. metel (triple purple) I think, may have mixed up the labels but am sure Bullit will confirm.
