Nexus city out there! All rooted.

Put in 12x 'DW02' leaves and 20x 'Brazil' Psychotria leaves into my humidity dome

Got 3x Datura metel cv Wondrous Bella seedlings pop up so far. 9 days since sown. Thanks to whoever sent these seeds. I do apologize for forgetting, I've had so many packages lately it's been hard to keep up :(

Cracked and sowed close to 40 more sandalwood seed in the last few days. These I have no idea what I will do with. Maybe plant around Perth?

Giving some of my broad phyllode jam seeds hot water treatment :)

Pricked out 20 or so Hakea francisiana seedlings into bigger pots. Tedious as f*ck.

A lot of the colored "corns" are actually maize varieties, just palatable when young cooked like a sweet corn, but best dried mature and processed to corn meal:wink:

They are lower in the sugars, and usually higher in protein than dent corns

Since the heavy rain this morning saw us in Perth another day, I decided to sit around and start a new book. For anyone interested in War history, check this - https://www.booktopia.com.au/the-bone-man-of-kokoda-charles-happell/prod9780330424844.html

Have 8 Catha edulis germinations, 10 days since sown. Hopefully get more

One TBM bit has 2 more pups. Can't remember if this was the one I BAP'd or not though

Now have 5x Datura metel cv Wondrous Bella seedlings :)

I hope a tree falls on the last tree surgeon and I hope it's the new one that cuts that tree down

Mulled over a few things in magick gardenea today, named a few critters while running their general "husbandry" planned some gourmet shroobydoo...  does that mean my garden and pets are my wife now? can i fuck them ? :P

Tried to take some very fucking large cuttings of privet hedge and see if they will go as hardwood cuttings using very fucking fresh woodchip as their , er (fucking?)rooting media

Bought some mushroom spawn to add (lions maine, various oysters king stroph to see if I can get a few things growing on the wood and shiitake dowels for a couple of logs to get back on track since that was the plan for 2013..

Well I have successfully teleported my noobality from back then to now with not much changed on the culture of the myc so I will see if I can locate some other species maybe from existing areas locally.. I know of a chicken of the woods and where it is.. - for some learning and experimentation/experience building.

just walking around it deciding what should go where .. and if to barrow any of it to the back garden since there's so much I can't see the stetsonia or the little acacias any more : /

I'm near a river :) ... maybe something that likes to grow near rivers should be worked on ...  and somethings that like to grow on wood that I don't already have ...  Ahaa! I know of a north american oak locally with a ganoderma that I think is a reishi ... I will see what I can do with a bracket of it perhaps broken up and mixed in to some.. chip garden area yeah ...  better wash hands with it's height and the amount of dogs around here ... and hopefully I won't get mushrooms growing on my cock or anything daft eh?

I wonder if morels really do prefer bark afterall?

Fed the Toadies Patzli AlvarezP1000907.JPGand Wetzli SuarezP1000905.JPG... and imagined being in sonora with them for a bit ...

Fed the FishiesP1000939.JPG.. still coming up with names ..

..maybe ZebedeeP1000816.JPGand TutuP1000949.JPGfor the L046's.. and imagined being in the river Xingu with them .. for a bit while noticing the rhizophora mangleP1000945.JPGhas started rooting in it's new position in the 'scape

Stowaway (a name) for one of the stowaways which so far is either 2, 3 or 4 in number and 1/2 may be L046 and 1/2 may be L450P1000885.JPG.. so imagined being with them in the river Tapajos for a bit ..

Ordered 3 more female L128's ... which will make a total of 8x L128 when complete ..

Sat back and watched them with a can of sanpellegrino pompelmo .. original one is called BlooplP1000983.JPG, of the recent 4 added; the female hanging near cave with the 2 males in all the time is SavannahP1000942.JPG, ... still deciding on the 2  malesP1000987.JPG and haven't been able to learn the markings yet to distinguish the alpha ... and imagined being with them in the river Orinoco for a bigger bit :)

Agamyxis pectinifronsP1000846.JPGseem to be loving the extra L046 caves ... and imagined staring in Pebas peru with them and then spreading my thoughts throughout the amazon basin wherever they might tuck themselves away in.. even little streams/trickles and imagined trying not to tread on their prickles..

watered sallyP1000956.JPG, calea, voacanga, vanilla and akuammaP1000959.JPGin the RFBP1000953.JPG ...

sally blosserP1000957.JPGseems to think I'm a tosser tho but she's probably a bitch to grow anyway?

checked over the tricho cacticals .. not too much to worry about ..

P1000954.JPG

watered mimosa scabrella and tenuiflora ... , prosthechea, arachnis, dendrobium and zygopetallum on the bay/sill but did not water the vandas (and havent for about a month and a half now - or any of the other hanging orchids) ..

watered cybidiumsP1000936.JPGP1000935.JPGwith not very much..

and phalanopsisP1000916.JPGin the kitch' who doesn't seem to want to stop flowering on one of them ...

checked the broken flower stemP1000917.JPGfrom months ago that i stuck into the bark .. seems to be happy and alive and growing.. I daren't pull it just in case it has and breaks and rootage that may have formed..

...noticed my caliber 3 has run out of battery power already ... the cunt ... so dnno what temps and humidity are now in the bay.

I hope the caliber 4's I have don't do that shit to the toads in the Alvarium.. and the De la fucre .. Dx!

watered De la fucreP1000909.JPG, checked the psychotria colorataP1000911.JPGleaf cuts are doing ok since it's transfer from the aeropodP1000963.JPGP1000962.JPG(where it was rotting) after cutting away the rot , coating with IPA hand wash gel and bagging with a bit of water ...

IbogaP1000913.JPGseems to have upped periscope again , and another caupuriP1000914.JPG ..

Big viridisP1000915.JPGis getting a woody which is a sign it's pleased to see me I guess

Back outside and no flowering on the Latua pubifloraP1000929.JPG : / or the clematis armandii or the Moroccan clematis I have which are supposed to be winter flowering ..

...  the outdoor trichos look ok for now :o fingers x'd that they dont melt

and it's a whole first time learning with the ephedra and their toughness!

same with acacias really those guys are hard as fuck so far .. even confusa!

Sniffed some weed seedlings. Out of about 11 theres 2 smelling crazy like the chitral buds they came from, the others have no smell except one that smells nice but different.

Some bug hunting...

Thrips numbers seem to have declined. I suspect it's the work of other bugs.

20171220_215542.thumb.jpg.dfade2eb0bb33f11a3414ad79cfe416a.jpg

This guy i haven't spotted eating anything, i followed it for quite a while and even moved it around helping it find a food source. Maybe it was shy to eat with me around.

Any idea what type of creature this might be?

This one can propel itself off the plant.

Theres also other bugs, but they are way to tiny too photograph. Smaller than spider mites, dark colored, and running around on the grafts at high speed.

On this picture there is a bug under the bottom right areole

20171212_180843.thumb.jpg.f59a60cd75e71be0f77b9e1fa1079e1c.jpg

Might be a thrips, any more specific ID would be welcome.

They look different than the other thrips, wich already seemed to have transformed to all the stages. They are white or black though, not with a dark band like this one. I have a feeling it could be a good guy.

Brug or Datura? No idea, but it's going hard in growing. Last week it only had a few little nubs of growth

mp9xvxB.thumb.jpg.f49e1db3d40f069f222d118c6d06bf17.jpg

Adenium obesum. After a few weeks of waiting! Not very fragrant I might add

QgxPBV9.thumb.jpg.adc5aee376e4422d453f7930c20ef759.jpg

Acacia acuminata typical/broad var. HWT - 16/12/17, sown 17/12/17. On 21/12/17 I did HWT on a bunch of my own jam seeds, next day they were sown into a 64cell tray and have 13 germinations so far. Definitely going to do some guerilla gardening in the future. Growing like a weed

Talinum fruticosum cutting flowering.

Get home earlier to find a heap of sandalwood germinating under my frangipani tree. Also grows like a weed. All removed and potted into individual pots.

Opposed to what world?

I'd say that nice looking stub would be a brug, i wouldn't expect datura to get woody like that as it is supposed to be a short lived perennial

Well, the people I work for go from school to uni straight into an office. Fuckers need some real world experience before going into a managerial position. I understand certain jobs can be allocated time allotments but sometimes shit just happens and the job goes over. Then you get a reaming for it...

Cool. I like brugs better aesthetically with their erect flowers.

Some asshole gave you a hard time?

I have to dissapoint you on the brug, it is of the hanging flower type. AKA angel's trumpet, blowing from above.

Datura's are devil's trumpet beeing erect and thus belonging to satan, who apparently lives inside of the earth. (probably cause he likes it hot)

I distributed Christmas garden gnomes.

My fam knows they can't buy me plants, but what better way to show they care and know me?

The guys are gonna show up with psychedelic beanies and tie die shirts in the not to distant. It's a garden gnomes life.

Cuttings day

Started with this cactus eager to grow it's own roots and thus degrafted itself

I figured i'd make cuttings of it's brother too before it too comes crashing down

Heres a picture of them both 11 months ago 20170105_143432.thumb.jpg.05c676e7ca1ea06c9c12f6e7ba775327.jpg

So what else to cut. I looked around and found 2 more cacti that could use pre-spring pruning.

Technically the same plant just in different pots.

Lower left pup on this 'My first lopho graft' got some light too, hard to imagine 9 months earlier it was this little red raisin looking thing

Been finding a lot weeds popping up in my plant pots

Will keep a close eye on these to see if they can be controlled or if better to just surrender (maybe even join them)

While sitting around eating fish n chips (yay friday?) in mess, looking at some photos I took last week. Aren't they beautiful :) Hopefully they're still alive when I get back LOL

Datura metel. This was sent over as a tiny little seedling about 6 weeks ago. Pretty happy with the 4 of them now

This bit of "PC" started going funny back in late November. I have noticed 1 more bit of "PC" is now starting to do it and also an unknown tricho bit. I can't be sure if the 2 PC bits were the same bit before I cut them. The unknown tricho came from @Psiphi a few years ago. All have been fed high nitrogen native and protea mix. Can excess nitrogen cause mutation? Or environmental factors? I remember reading about someones column being attacked my snails causing it to crest.

Acacia acuminata broad phyllode - it's a thing of beauty :) Sown 17/12/17

Painted mountain corn cob starting to ripen. Hopefully able to do a giveaway with that.

Pricked out 11x Catha edulis seedlings into own pots.

Mate it looks good to go, if your using the top of the coke bottle, take the lid off for a few days, to slowly change humidity.

Moved a few bits of pach and cuzco down the back where I first grew some columns 3-4 years ago and put in 2 Datura metel seedlings. They're being guarded!

Wind the other day knocked down all my painted mountain corn:( Had to look at how the cobs were going... Maybe next year

Datura metel flower bud? This arrived as a 2-3 week old seedling back in mid November. Now it's around 35cm..

These 2 are starting to do what the other funky bit is doing. It stops growing, then one rib gets a little higher and folds over on itself. Definitely environmental causes as one piece came from over east..

Knocked this up out of some scrap steel I had kicking around. Need to go get some more tube and mesh tomorrow to finish this and another I will make.
