Baby Trich Grafts

Recommended Posts

So I was running out of peres earlier in the year and wanted to do some grafting. I had some very small trichs which I thought I would try to graft to as an experiment. Seems to have worked out well!

This is a new graft but is basically what I did to the below pics about 9 months ago. A little bit smaller.

These are the 9 month old grafts using both trich and loph seedlings as stock. The stock continued to fatten up over time. Grown in Tassie mind you, so I am very happy with their growth rate

Nice work !

Do you secure the grafts with anything ?

& you mentioned you used Lophs as stock, do you have any pics of them ?

I think it was a wording mistake SallyD

Rebalias: The rootstock is well... called the rootstock, the bit u graft onto i is called the scion. Or commonly refered to as "The Graft" :P

Loph seedlings as stock... Really?

Love that you used trich seedings as stock and it seems to have worked great.

Emm, yeah..sorry for my poor wording.

Trich seedlings as root stock, loph seedlings as the graft.

Edit: Trichs are peruvianus btw.

This really cool as it is something I have been thinking about doing as well. I have had some success with grafting young seedlings onto pach pups but I still find I have more survive if I put a little bit of weight on them to hold them initially.

Please keep us updated on how they go :)

Cheers

Got
