it looks like sunburn to me.

have you recently moved this plant, or is it suddenly in a more sunny aspect, because the sun is higher in the sky?

it looks on your pic, like the sheltered leaves are still ok.

i would move the plant under some shadecloth, but make sure, it's still a bright aspect, and than try again with another spot.

but, you can leave the plant in it's current location, and wait till the new growth, gets accustumed to this very sunny aspect.

I would say that your right PH. Cheers

I did just move it out from the shade of a few other plants only a few days ago.

I have now put it back into similar lighting conditions.

I moved it to be able to look at it more often, but it was really thriving where I had it.

Very selfish of me.

As long as it aint a virus or something of the sort.

Could this be due to seasonal bad weather or disease?

did you experience a lot of rain latly?

the plant looks to me, like it had it's roots, too wet, for a while, at a not freedraining location.

either too little, or too much water, aswell i think, the plant suffers from competition, with the other (bamboo?) plant which is so close to it, and which is green.

pruning back the plant which steals the water and food, from the catha might help.
