Buttsack Posted November 6, 2012 (edited) For sale are some Banisteriopsis Caapi seeds sourced from Brazil. These were harvested in October so they are fresh and viable. $10 for 10 seeds including postage within Australia. EDIT: $1 per seed. Minimum order is $10. So if you would like 15 seeds then that's $15. Edited December 5, 2012 by Buttsack

Buttsack Posted November 7, 2012 Yeah there is still plenty left. I'll up the price when I've only got 1/4 left just to slow things down. There's plenty for everyone :D The more people growing this from seed the better the genetics will be here in Australia and within this community. Here are some pics of the seeds

Buttsack Posted November 9, 2012 I've asked the vendor and he told me the seeds are from "Tucunaca" strain (sometimes written Tukunaca, or Tukunaka), but he also grows Caupuri (knotted caapi), and i grow them pretty close one of each other. The caupuri rarely set seeds, or when it does set seeds the quantity produced is very limited. So I have a mix but there should be a few Caupuri seeds or even hybrids of both, but most of the seeds will show Tucunaca characteristics. Buttsack Posted November 25, 2012 (edited) I have had a couple of seedlings come up in the last couple of days. The seeds were planted about 18 days ago. They were planted in my greenhouse in shade but not fully covered with any plastic or anything. I've found since planting these seeds that covering the pot with clear plastic keeps the humidity higher around the seed and I've had a much better germination rate with other seeds like silene capensis and leonotis leonurus. Just heat and humidity is enough to germinate the seeds so even when the trays of pots are stacked plenty of seedlings sprout. I was a bit lazy planting these ones so they were planted in sand, coco, terracotta and tub mix, perlite. I've been doing some experimenting with different seed mixes. The best mix I've found for most plants and cactus is; 1.5 parts sand (Australian Builders brand from the building section in Bunnings) 1 part perlite 1 part peat moss I've only been using this mix for the past week and have only just planted some caapi seeds using this mix. So in 2-3 weeks I should know what mix works best. IMO the best way to plant the seeds is either at a 45 degree angle or flat, with the seed and outer vane going into the ground first. You can see from the pictures of my seedlings how they sprout. The second picture was planted how I described. EDIT: Oh yeah I still have heaps of seeds left Edited November 25, 2012 by Buttsack
