Did somebody ask for pictures? ;)

I'm not sure if this kinda X-rated cube porn is permitted but I will put it here anyway683290793-DSC_0333.jpg

Found in brisbane. Obviously it is illegal to pick but if I had to take a guess, I would say this beautiful cube weighs in at 90 grams ;)

The cap alone is as big as my outstretched hand.

be careful about mt. nebo bro.

they've sprayed pesticide all over the area around there, so yeah, good chance that you might get poisoned. just go bushwhacking after it rains to get the viking mushrooms.

Have you any knowledge if they are spraying Glyphosphate (Roundup) to control weeds? or is it something else?

I don't know what the pesticide is brother. But yeah, someone told me that they saw someone spray fungicides and pesticides all over the area. it should still be safe though. I'm just suggesting that he washes them water before consuming the Viking shroom.

Peace.

Chances are that hippies beat you too it man. It's disappointing when you travel all the way down there to look for shrooms and you either get A. Chased off a farm by an angry farmer or B. Find that the fields been raped. But yeah man, I suggest that you go to Casino. Casino has fuckloads of secluded private farms filled with cow pies and is part of the Northern Rivers sector.

Peace.

Me and a mate or two are dying to go to casino / byron from brisbane or thereabouts. wonder if any qld'ers are keen on driving us if provided gas money. we will do some surfing or someshit. the weather has been very wet there lately but it should clear up somewhat on monday so that would be a good time.

i doubt the government spray's fungicide as it would kill of beneficial fungi as well and it would be a loosing battle

spore's can travel for many miles

Good point Red.. likey just Glyphosate or 'round up', to manage vegetative growth. Edit: I say 'just' because it is common. However depending on who you beilieve, this is either a really bad substance for humans or "safe as houses". All I can say for sure about it is; It works by penertrating the stomata of plants through leaves & green branches etc, circulating throughout the plants vascular system from there it works as an "Inhibitor of EPSP sythase (needed to sythesis amino acids)" Plant protection 1. 3rd edition 2003. R.M. Kerrusish & P. W. Unger. Page K40. In that respect very small amounts of the chemical will be present through out the entire plant. ie It cant be washed off! It can be present in plants for up to a month before the plant begins to die. It also needs the plant to be hydrated (full of water) to work effectively. It is inactive in the soil. Possibly a good reason to be aware of the management of particular titles of land if you wish to harvest wild edible mushrooms. Although due to the breif emergence period of mushrooms and the probabiltity this "herbicide" is inaffective on fungi perhaps this makes everything Ive just typed irrelavent... (gRR! I even opened a book even though I was telling myself Im too lazy to do that!) Oh well, hopefully it adds to the pool of knowledge anyway! Edited by MikeyMagic

Don't get me wrong. I think that the majority of whatever it was that she told me was indeed wrong.

I have heard of farmers spraying the cow pat's with a fungicide, but what you hear isn't always true

Farmers don't spray for mushrooms, they have motorbikes blue healers and twenty twos to keep trespassers out. lol

I mean how much money do you think that would cost to spray 60 acres with a fungicide to stop cubes growing. lol Mushroom pickers are like crows annoying but not high on the shit list. Urban myths are always a bit silly. "I heard dope growers spray there crop with mortein for a better buzz too". And the list goes on.

"I heard dope growers spray their crop with mortein for a better buzz too".

Wouldnt that kill the buzz? :P

Ahh but seriously this is a beautiful discussion.

If there is one person with a question or misunderstanding there will be a thousand more out there in the shadows.

I may have said this once before, but each of us floating these words simmering away in our brains helps to dispell fear due to misunderstanding.

Personlly I have shiploads of knowledge about certain things, but on the flip side I have massive voids in my knowledge where I should have... more.. like about mushrooms...
