Master B Posted November 17, 2015 My purpureopilosus popped a second flower a couple of weeks ago and this time i made a bit better effort to pollinate it. Both flowers were pollinated with frozen bb scop pollen from last year. First one didnt take so i just assumed the pollen was dead. But the second flower i accidentally left the pollen out of the freezer over night and pollinated the flower in the morning i blew the pollen into the stigma as opposed to brush application with the first). The most exciting thing for me with it all is that the pollen has been stored in the freezer for nearly a year but it is still viable

Yeti101 Posted November 24, 2015 Super Pedro buds! (Thanks Alice!) Looks like I'll need some pollen - preferably from something spineless, but anything would do - the weirder the better. About how long have I got?
zed240 Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) Hey Yeti, You've got anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks I reckon, (Depending on weather and the plants "mood" they can go faster or slower). But I'd say pretty much at Christmas or New year those will pop for you. I Have to say though, (cause I can't hold my tongue sometimes), that I really don't think that's a Super Pedro, it really doesn't look like that clone at all. Yeti101 Posted November 25, 2015 Thanks zed. There's nothing to show scale in that pic - it's pretty fat - not that fatness is necessarily an indicator of what clone something is. Anyway, it was given to me as Super Pedro - an act that was generous no matter what clone it actually is . I'll post some pics in the ID subforum so we can discuss it further. Regardless, it's still going to need some pollen some time soon.
Change Posted November 25, 2015 Where does the original Super pedro mother come from ? Has anyone got any pics?
zed240 Posted November 25, 2015 Where does the original Super pedro mother come from ? Has anyone got any pics? Cactus country in Strathmerton. I'm sure many people have larger plants than I. But here are some pics of one of mine that's planted out. I have about 4 clones of this one growing as it's just so attractive I can't help myself. One of mine in post 344 of this thread is flowering this year, it's in a pot so is a bit thinner though. Still have to decide what I'll cross it with...... http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=33701&p=519879
zelly Posted December 2, 2015 nothing earth shattering about a pic of a pc flower, except maybe one that blooms Dec 1 in the northern hemisphere in early winter? 4 more and a LJ flower coming soon lol
2meke Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) scops this is probably the most common pachanoid clone in my neck of the woods this ones from another source and looks slightly different but is growing in different conditions "nz yowie" sold as cuzco from the local cacti shop. i thought it looked more peruvianus until i saw the shops mother plant the mum Edited December 8, 2015 by 2meke
wert Posted December 8, 2015 pic ten. cuzco? I don't think so. I used to have one very similar and threw it out because it's spines were so brittle tey would just breakk of under my skin and wreak havoc from there on. I would be interested in a true id of this plant for sure.
2meke Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) i edited that post to add a pic of the "cuzco" mother i doubted the id from the day i got it. i only recently saw the mother plant and thought it looks rather cuzco in a unique way. Auxin Posted December 11, 2015 I vote for a Anakie X Scop cross. In the F2 you could search for the ones with scop radials and anakie centrals ;)
