Darklight Posted November 9, 2002 Can't somebody here so something to make it rain? It's a zillion degrees here and drier than lunching on salt & vinegar chips at Uluru. This is ridiculous. So many clever ppl- surely there's something we haven't thought of... ...and not a cloud in the sky
Auxin Posted November 9, 2002 "It's a zillion degrees here... ...and not a cloud in the sky" Mmmmmmmmmmmm That sounds great, why complain? My only problem with weather like that is that its hell on my capsicums, other than that give me some hot coffee and 110 F weather and I'm in heaven.

Torsten Posted November 12, 2002 Mesq - I've seen the postcards of Uluru in many shades, but when I was there, the rain just made it look like a WET red rock. I did find the plantlife spectacular though. You can basically watch the buggers grow.

I dunno I just think Its so amazing to see a usually dry and barren place come alive in the rain.. especially when there are actually waterfalls coming off it heh.. Torsten Posted November 14, 2002 Yea, we saw waterfalls and stuff, but what we really wanted to see was colourchanges We also saw some fish in a pool on top, which was a total spinout.

eccles Posted November 15, 2002 ahhh well you see the most effective way to make it rain is to give the garden a thorough watering (I know this is no revelation to anyone here). but god in his perverse wisdom has made such things impossible to do during droughts... hehehe funny bugger isn't he! MrBumpy Posted November 17, 2002 what seems to work pretty well for the Gold coast to make it rain is be host to a large tourist event like Indy or Schoolies (either way, I reckon lots of fun will be had by all involved) -bumpy
