Bread Filter Posted September 15, 2012 Can anyone offer some advice on a good place to stay in Amsterdam during the cup? I'd like somewhere close to all of the Coffee Shops especially the Green House and Barney's. I don't use drugs but would like to get a Cannabis smoking friendly room as I am sure I will befriend some randoms and bring them back to my room for a very low key party. I am travelling by myself and am far from a rich man but can afford $100 AUS a night for the 5 nights I will be there. I don't want to share a room. Also is the $300 High Times judges pass worth it? I am only there for the first 2 days of the event before I fly out to Hong Kong to play hockey. Any help, ideas or recommendations on Amsterdam in general will be much appreciated. Foo Posted September 15, 2012 (edited) The Boat'tell is cheap. Its a 1 min fairy ride from all the action so if your out past midnight youll have to take a cab or something. But the price is right and they have cable porn ;) A word of advixe though, dont get too drunk/stoned as sea sickness can be get really really retarded Oh yeh, it also shares the same dock as the green peace boat, so you have the addedbonus of yelling "how come you dont do anything but advertise with your boat?" also theres a sunken rusian ww2 sub visable close by. http://www.amstelbotel.nl/ Edit #2: The windows are only for looking. Coolest hotel I reckon only you cant bring non-registed guest back to the room. Utopia is ok, B & B/Coffeeshop/Hostel with single rooms; cheap and cheerful. Weed friendly http://www.greenhous...t.nl/wordpress/ The Greenhouse effect coffeeshop being right next door offering a small but nice selection of weed.. The greenhouse special was a very nice stone. Although you dont plan on partaking..Really nice people too.. As most peeps are in Amsterdam.. They have themed rooms that are pretty cool..I stayed in the Arabian nights room.. But as Mickodog said, finding a room for under $100 will be hard. Although the GH effect does have a studio apartment for 85 euro.. Not sure if the $300 judges pass is worth it if you dont smoke.. Bread Filter Posted November 29, 2012 I have no memory of making that post! They only have new strains in the shops I frequented in Amsterdam Seth. I found it very hard to original strains from 20 years ago. The potency was way off compared to Australia sadly but the smell, taste and look are amazing. I ended up checking out of my hotel and into a dungeon below the coolest Coffeeshop in Amsterdam with by FAR the best product and coolest staff.
