Hey Got, this is the infamous lophocereus schottii monstrose, it has barely moved an inch in almost two years.

And the opuntia cylindrica graft was a gift from a mate, however.. NO!

i would not use it myself as i have noticed it is starting to pup from almost every single aerole and it also has glochoids, so it seems like it will be more touble than its worth

Awesome garden! How big is your greenhouse? Very neat - that's spring cleaning to the max! :)

i think its 3 metres long by 2 metres wide. Enough room for all the goodies I can grow, but not so much that I buy more plants than i can move house with.

It appears from these photos that there is alot of room, although in reality i could probably fill three of these with my current collection of plants

Raves? Forests? Cacti & bonsai conventions? Swamps? Nude beaches?

Ha, cheers. There surely are others out there, but to be honest she'll probably be hiding from the world in her garden.

So what you're saying is we either need to go to nude beaches and ask them if they're into cacti or we should break into the yards of people with loads of cacti and hope to make a friend?

I'm blaming you if this goes awry!

I think once you know the 'ways of the cacti' Miss/Ms/ cacti will make her self known in unexpected ways...!!

Whilst the nude beach is undoubtebly visually appealing I think finding the perfect cacti, bonzai, frog loving girl there will results in slaps a many and shouts of 'pervert' ha ha.

And as for breaking into a garden, well if its anything like my place the dog will have chewed your testicles off before any phone numbers are slipped to the unsuspecting lady of the house so your question jox was a very good one,how do you meet these girls!!!!

bogfrog back to you

Oh yeah. Shit hit the fan big time. Hail and snow non-stop all day yesterday. Its all gone nw, but I hope nothing suffered too much, only thing I moved indoors were the bonsai. My garden is extremely sheltered so I think the cacti avoided most of it.

I'l put up a couple pics of my hail-art when I go to town today.

In a fine example of Dunedin weather, this photo was taken less than 24 hours after the first lot.

Very cold cacti:

And now, its sunny as can be once again.

And here is my hail art (cheap entertainment):

Ha thanks for the kind words, the cat is Bog, she accompanies me on all gardening missions.

So Kate, are you after one of these cacti-babes yourself? cause geez even if you are, i think you sound just like one of those dream-girls these blokes are looking for.

perhaps an add in the classifieds could do the trick: "Want to find: sexy girlfriend /sexy boyfriend. (Must love cacti)"

we humans need love like a cactus needs water - can go along time without it but we grow a lot faster when its plentiful.
