Thelema Posted April 1, 2012 Yeah, so hey that's great that the new "logo" for the "Corroboree" is Brugmansia crapfloris At least render it a bit. It's quite shit.
mud Posted April 1, 2012 lol. I find the style pleasant, but yeh it is slightly crap. Must admit, I enjoyed the blue and grey theme here for a while. It seemd to attract different discussions and another kind of member.
shruman Posted April 1, 2012 You sure on that ID Thele?, don't Brugmansia flowers hang down... I prefered the pebbles but am sure it will grow on me.
dionysus Posted April 1, 2012 it is actualy dubosia hopwoodii; a significant australian solanacae.
Thelema Posted April 1, 2012 Ah, Dubosia crapwoodii. My mistake. I wondered why the brug was upside down. Seriously though, everything else is great. But that flower is crap.
noshiewa Posted April 2, 2012 i didnt even notice the flower untill i saw this thread and then i still had to look for it.
whitewind Posted April 2, 2012 Well, I thought it was Datura. I think the flower is just fine, but I don't like the new colour scheme there are several types of brown which is cool but the gunmetal blue around the posts is wronging my brain a lot. Still better than the ultra blueness of before.
chnt Posted April 2, 2012 torsten mentions the species in the forum upgrades thread, work backwards from the end and look for his post, i cbf.
chnt Posted April 2, 2012 maybe i can cbf #169 the flower is a stylised pituri flower. it is replacing the pebbles as the anchor to australia's most intriguing ritual plant region.
Bert&Ernie Posted April 2, 2012 I actually don't mind it but maybe if it had a but more detail or something it would look slightly better
Distracted Posted April 2, 2012 Do you honestly care that much? :/

Torsten Posted April 5, 2012 Yeah, so hey that's great that the new "logo" for the "Corroboree" is Brugmansia crapfloris At least render it a bit. It's quite shit. Some peoples opinion I value, others just reaffirm my original choice.
solomon Posted April 5, 2012 Haters gonna hate, T I like it. Liked the pebbles as well but that logo was looking a bit dated.
Torsten Posted April 6, 2012 yeah, I know, and I'm not bothered by it. I like minimalism, so when I saw this design I was very much attracted to it, but I also knew it wouldn't suit everyone here. I think it goes well with the modern minimalistic look of the rest of the forum.
Thelema Posted April 7, 2012 Some peoples opinion I value, others just reaffirm my original choice Hmm that seems uneccesarily personal T.
Torsten Posted April 7, 2012 what, and you don't think the designer would take your comment personal? There are ways to say you don't like the design without being so mean. For all you know, all I may have meant with my comment is that you are not a suitable person to judge minimalism - some people just don't get the concept of minimalism. But maybe that's not all I meant, so read into it what you like.
Marcel Posted April 7, 2012 I really like the new logo. It has that DMT-realm angular aesthetic that a lot of "visionary" art has lately. Good call, Torsten. But, no. It's not minimalism. Not in the traditional Modernist sense of the term. While reductive, it's still representational. This is minimalism: (Mark Rothko- I would die for you! )
Psylo Posted April 8, 2012 oooh, back paint partially covered by red paint. How artsy ! That flower looks like it was rendered on a computer from 1982. But really, who cares, I come here to love & be loved. Love youse all. From Psylo (with love)
