planthelper Posted March 22, 2012 mate, believe it or not, i used to be a pro cabinetmaker, but i have saved a lot of elboegrease with this construction. i hand planed the top (big) board, and than used an orbit sander and hand sanding. i got pretty good wood working tools, but it still takes a lot of time, as i basicly mill all my wood, myselfe. i was thought, in a technical college, but this piece is, kept more "ozzi raw". cedar wood last's longer, i love the red in it. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

What sort of finish have you been using? I've got a fewlittle chunks of red cedar that I've made myself a few plugs for my ears with that I've never been able to keep the finish for long. planthelper Posted July 11, 2012 if you want to play didge, whilst playing another instrument, you need a didge stand. this is my 1st proto type, so it sure has flaws, hehehe. all home diy, with recyled materials (wood from the dump, old bicycle inner tube, some screws). joints which are under stress are dealt better this way,, than with screws or any connections which would suffer under stress, but the wedged, mortised and tenon, joint will not fail, hehehe.
