Things that make me feel good :) (not drug relAted)

Recommended Posts

Feel free to add urs!

Pulling myself back onto the rails (thanks for the heads up torsten, I listened to you, I always do)

I've been thinking about the things that make me happy that have nothing to do with drugs. I'm a drug pig, it's all or nothing for me, so I'm trying to err on the side of nothing for a while ;)

Conversing with old people. I love those old school manners and respect. It's such an easy conversation. I love my oldies.

Seeing an old couple walk hand in hand.

Sunsets.

When my daughter sings along to whatever's on the radio when I'm driving.

Propagating plants

Hard manual labour with easy going, funny guys in the sun. Testosterone, endorphins and vitamin d. I know it's odd but it's a pleasure in my life.

My mums hugs.

Real chicken soup!!

Perky firm female breasts, u know the ones where the nipples point upwards.

Toned up, attractive, friendly, easy going guys with defined chests working shirtless.

Spin fishing in the Lachlan with my best friend skinkdog.

When my cat mr.bigglesworth sits on my chest and purrs when I get home I. The morning. Something about a cats purr ? The vibrations and all?

Listening to cicadas, frogs and crickets. Combination of the 3 is amazing.

Pruning roses, smelling roses, particularly mt. Lincoln and Peace.

providing money to support my child. At the moment all of her special needs are met.The ability to provide for her financially in all aspects.

When the stars are all out shining vividly

Chai tea.

My rexy.

Camping ( though never done it without dwugs, maybee it's not so flash.

Plan is I'm going to do a lot more of the things I like doing that don't involve drugs. Particularly nos

when a woman hugs me. and we have to act like, 'aw yeah it's just a hug, we're friends, tee-hee..'

but the reality is, every time some girl comes up to me, goes 'hey how are you??' and then hugs me,

all i can think about is how nice she smells,

and how awesome she feels.

that's my piece :)

Maybe start working in aged care if you can hack it, youll have to face mortality but the stories and thanks are enough to have pleasure in the work you do, which seems a rarity. Lots of work there..

Happy worklife, happy gardening, happy/healthy family,

Getting back to my family has been a big one, getting rid of unhealthy people and groups of degenerates helps aswell.

And being truthfull about your drug use.. to yourself and others so people can keep an eye on you Torstens seems to have the love atm..but family which you may have close contact is important for me anyhow. As it seems i have to walk a fine line to stabilize my mood but not going on my mjaor highs and lows.

Strangely enough its been worklife and family life that have saved my life.

Much love to you incognito, itshard good work, but your being honest with yourself by the looks of things so a lot of the hard work is done IMHO.

I think we've all been there

Yeah, that brings back the memory of being in high school alright...

I have a strong "feel good" feeling when i massage/scratch on the back (all non sexual) girls, not just my girlfriend but in general. I guess it's a good thing for both parts.

Strange thing is, that it's almost an obsession, now when Emelie has been in Asia for 6 weeks i discovered that it's definitely an urge to satisfy.

Making a fire is satisfying the caveman in me, just as much as just digging a hole in the ground.

I work at a school with kids around 8yrs old... and Jesus god it's cosy on another level having 15 kids around you in a circle eating fruits and being amazed by the book I'm reading to them.

Spiders making a web.

The smell of forest soil.

To have dirty hands (soil or similar) after a long honest day of work.

Planting seeds (the period from when i acquire them until the first set of leaves)

Having friends laughing and having fun even if it's "on me" too few people are like this.

Finding, anything general exploration, guess it's the sapiens in me again lol.

Helping others, older women the most.

This is the best thread on SAB. Ever. Warm, honest, simple happiness. So much of it in the world.

Incog, you practically made me cry when I read your post.

- For me, it's my wife and sons. Best friends in the world. Every little burp from these three is bliss.

- I love dancing and watching dancing. The future is dance.

- The poetry of Frank O'Hara and Czeslaw Milosz.

- Clouds.

- Smiling. It feels sooo good! And when strangers smile back it's awesome. Sometimes I fall into a smiling fit where I can't stop smiling and it blows up into complete out-loud laughter. For no reason whatsoever!

- Gardening

- My family mushroom picking trips every autumn. I've been doing them every year since I was born. As a kid I was more excited about the first hunt of the season than I was about Christmas, birthdays, or the start of school holidays. This is still the same, and now my boys have the fever.

- Morton Feldman's "Rothko Chapel". Most beautiful music humans have ever made.

- The films of Yasujiro Ozu, Andrei Tarkovsky, Werner Herzog and Abbas Kiarostami.

- Laughter. Especially with my wife.

- Twilight hour on a clear day. The sun has set, but it's still light...

- The spiritual impulses and traditions of the world. I love the way people define their world, and I love the fact that these expressions can be so diverse.

I could go on for ever. Life is great.

Sleep, cooking, chinese dumplings, my dogs, playing guitar, drinking tea, fishing, holidays, walking my dogs, not worrying about the future, etc and I prefer large breasts with large aerolia (sp?) myself :)

But above all else, catching up with old friends.

Live music from excellent musicians (just came back from an awesome outdoor concert)

Thoughtful music.

Watching plants growing happily - seeing their will to live.

Being together with my family.

Learning about music and playing my guitar

The run back home after running to the beach

Learning something that changes the way I view the world for the better. Noticing things that I didn't notice before.

Being happy with friends.

But most of all - being appreciated, by friends and family. Working to earn that appreciation. :)

I'm right there with you at the moment, Incog. Since going back into detox again a couple of weeks ago, two days after I'd started using again... and now I'm back at the point of going to a doctor on monday to try a different outpatient detox since I really don't want to ask anyone to mind my house and pets for 3 weeks. I'm so disappointed in myself, but I'm learning to deal with the fact that my Other drug usage really wasn't helping burgeoning anxiety issues. I've always been more or less a happy go lucky, chill person, drugs or not. So t's hard for me to face this. BUT, after telling most of my friends (where the Other usage was most prevalent) I needed a break to clear my head, a friend from a different crowd who helps me out a lot so I feel obligated not to cut her off was quite needy at the time - right after I got out - her negativeand high-strung presence reeaally did not help. Also we'd had a trip booked in Tassie, so I had to deal. But anyway, I have a new boyfriend of around 3 months who is wonderful and supportive, and most importantly at this point, really mellow. It's odd, we must be perfectly vibrationally matched (I mean that in an OOGA BOOGA way, not in a romantic way) because he's the only person I can tolerate spending more than an hour with because he feels just like inside my own skin. He also snaps me out of big shame funks and doesn't judge me or pressure me in any way. So I would say he makes me feel really good. Especially just (clothed) spooning on the lounge watching shithouse TV.

Listening to music is always heartlifting. Drawing or looking at art. Wanking's pretty fun. Better with someone else though. Watching favourite childhood movies (Neverending Story etc for me). My cat *(definitely clothed) spooned up against my front while we sleep; she's a small cat so fits perfectly and buries her face in my armpit when it's cold. Daydreaming about flying... omg how could I forget LAUGHING! I think one of the top three human experiences; salve for the soul.

We'll get there, Incog :)

Watching home movies of my kids when they were little.

Laughing so hard that i cant breathe, and tears stream down my face.

The feeling of nature when i go for a bush walk.

My dog waking me up in the morning by jumping on my head and giving me puppy kisses.

Giving / sharing.

:)

family.....just like sab, a church is three friends in a circle

to be driven of the need to love of all the super nature unknown......day after day year after year

knowing my lovecandle burns unconditionally in a hyper materialistic world of unnatural imperfections

to feel the burn of unrequited love ....yet keeping positive and moving upward

the sting of salt water spray on my face at the beach in winter

believing in friends who supported you when you least expected it

ability to regenerate my mind after a catastrophic brain bushfire and use this data to help others

i am an organic and therefore we all are

market shopping on a sat morning and haggling for cheaper fruit

existing, being alive and circumventing the pain of life's losses to arrive at the best train station on this planet.........me and you

On a hot day, window down on the car, arm out, just cruising, pull up to lights and see another bloke doing the same thing.

Giving away plants to neighbors.

The moon, the sun, learning and being challenged, wrestling, tormenting and all the things with my partner in crime. Purchasing pornoriffic linen. Cooking eating & shopping for orgasmic fresh delish food. Doing washing, - i have a thing...

The ocean in what ever temprement she presents herself. Fresh new, fresh old, or just music that either provokes an emotional response or makes me want to get the eff down.

Lots of changes in my life lately, for the happier, the genuine happier. That sometimes scares me, fear of actually allowing myself to think about being happy, let alone to feel it, own it & its real and that you might actually be deserved of such.

Awesome topic.

My fave things are:

Really tasty fresh fruit, especially figs, watermelon, pears, black grapes, white nectarines, raspberries.

Being with my kids, playing, laughing, exploring the world.

Playing music with other people... doesn't matter if they're good or not, just the tribal feeling of making sounds fit with sounds.

Lying flat on the floor in silence and letting my mind relax to a point where I can drift anywhere I want to.

The beginning of spring where you feel like the hibernation is over and you can explore the outside world again... those first days of sunshine and the feeling of arousal and the urge to mate.

Being naked with someone you connect with on a sexual, emotional and intellectual basis. Indulging in the giving and receiving of pleasure.

Learning/reading up on/exploring the unknown, ie: human origins, pre-history, conspiracy theories, space, quantum physics.

Love. Friends, partners, family, strangers.

Life has lots of amazing stuff.... I could go on, but that'll do for now. :) :) :) :) :)

What a bunch of hippies... no one has said "Getting drunk with me mates and going out looking for a bruising".

What's with that?
