tipz Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) ^what they said^ I would commission Jo to make me a Loph cake or even better a T.peruvianus cake, But i doubt it would survive the trip to Adelaide. Soooo so gifted ! Edited August 16, 2012 by tipz
Amazonian Posted August 16, 2012 GoOnThen, I think your wife is lucky to have a husband that is so proud of her (and so you should be). Once again ... OUTSTANDING creativeness!
GoOnThen Posted August 22, 2012 Thanks Amazonian Jo says thanks to every one for all of the kind words and the "likes" Cheers Got
GoOnThen Posted September 6, 2012 As promised my beautiful wife Jo made me a Loph birthday cake which I think turned out brilliantly This cake was made for my eldest daughters birthday. This one was made for one of my employees that had an accident at work last year (on my birthday) and ended up loosing his ring finger. He always sees the humour in most things so Jo made this cake for the anniversary of the departed finger. Cheers Got
at0m Posted September 6, 2012 That loph cake is INCREDIBLE! Your wife makes amazing cakes. Seriously.
Sallubrious Posted September 6, 2012 It was well worth the wait. I can understand what was taking so much time now, that Loph cake must have taken ages to make and finish off. It would be a real shame to cut such a work of art. She has a real talent.
Amazonian Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) That Loph' cake is the best cake i have ever seen, and i am not just saying that. Your wife has a real talent, I cant express that enough. If your lucky, eating that Loph' cake might have a placebo effect . EDIT: I also like the way she used broken biscuits(?) to give the appearance of soil. She put a lot of thought into that cake. mutant Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) If your lucky, eating that Loph' cake might have a placebo effect lol amazing, thanks so much for sharing the lophophora cake is another thing! wow, just wow! I take it the dirt is chocolate, so you ate even the soil? Edited September 7, 2012 by mutant
Thegribbs Posted September 9, 2012 Simply amazing. Though I would be hesitant about giving it to a young child. The implications of cutting up thier childhood hero could be devestating! hahaha
CβL Posted September 9, 2012 What I find really strange is that the loph cake is shiny, and my mind can't imagine it as being anything other than made out of that shiny vinyl. In other words.... please post me some cake.
GoOnThen Posted September 10, 2012 Thanks for all of the responses I have shown this thread to Jo and she also would like to say thanks I must admit when we sat down as a family to have some cake I did have a little smile at the thought of my two daughters and Jo and I munching down on slices of Lophophora. The cakes were coconut cake with raspberry cheesecake mousse filling coated with chocolate ganache and the the outside icing layer is coloured fondant. As Amasonian thought the dirt was made up of a couple of different biscuits crushed up and yes the whole cake was very tasty. The next cake that has been ordered is going to be another interesting one as it is a subaru wrx cake Cheers Got
