illegal? I think it is only illegal if you write on the envelope what is inside, we have sent quite a bit to the USA, where as far as I know everything is illegal, so in the words of bob dylan "They only know if you tell them so".

i think there is a little bit more to it then a no named envelope (especialy australia)

like i said i am no expert but i have had many items opened and forwarded to me with different coloured tapes meaning different things. wouldent there be some "specialist" that is able to ID seeds/plant material that may be illegal in this country?

Im not trying to attack you im trying to clarify

yes we do watch border security and have often thought that australia is pretty hardcore, but these are really standard envelopes that I dont thin will raise suspicion but would like to test my theory anyway, as far as I know catha edulis is indigenous to australia as well? afaik you are allowed to import the fresh leaf with a permit?

We export to the rest of the world, why would you have a problem with it coming from africa?

khat seeds are a prohibited drug import into australia. It does not matter what they are labelled as, if the receiver has ordered them [computer and financial records will be seized in the raid] then the receiver is in trouble. Detection is not very likely [but possible] and it is against the rules of this forum to incriminate someone, which includes entrapping hem into an illegal act against their knowledge. if you want to offer seeds that are illegal in australia then your initial post must state the legal status and advice against ordering them if importing into australia.

why import, if we got better seeds in australia?

i could be wrong, but it seems the topicstarter, managed to get his hands on some ph f2 catha edulis seeds, and posted a pic of them at another forum, but the seeds he sells are mainly just normal red's.

Actually, I have been growing catha edulis commercially in south africa for 17 years and if torsten remembers correctly he got seed from me about 8 - 10 years ago, the market is not very big for catha edulis seed, so its good to get some variety, at least im selling them and not giving them away, I have 600 000 stock this year. If im stepping on any toes let me knows and Il leave the forum.

unfortunately khat is pretty easy to get here in australia mate and it is illeagal to import seeds into australia

it looks like you got a good grow goin there

but unfortunately you wont have much luck selling anything to australians as its readily avaliable here so no one is going to risk importing them which could get them into alot of trouble

so sorry man nice offer but yeh i dont think you 'll have much luck sellin anything on here

Just want to add that Khatmando's seeds are rightous. He was kind enough to send me an extraordinarily generous lot here in the States.

When people talk about 'near 100% germination rates', with any plant, I tend to smell bullshit, though Khatmando's seeds are germing at very close to that.

I think it also speaks volumes about Catha's undeserved reputation as being difficult to sprout. It's simply not true, if the seed is fresh enough.

If you're able, I highly recommend that you take Khatmando up on his kind offer.

if you store this seed in the fridge than it will keep it's viabilety for a few years, if you store them at room temperature, they fade after a year a lot.
