Acacia obtusifolia in flower (pics)

Recommended Posts

Went out for a camping trip with my wife and kids this week. Won't say where, but it was about 2 hours out of Sydney. What an awesomely mild summer we're having!

Saw so many of these Acacia obtusifolia in flower. They were everywhere. It looked gorgeous! Thought I'd share a couple of pictures.

Also found a little grove of these trees. Any idea what species?

Yes a couple of mine are in flower and the others are about to. awesome flowers, the colours are lovely. not that bold yellow of some acacias but a lovely pale shade that is just so beautiful.

I have an acacia that i had bought seeds labelled as Obtusifolia, but it flowered early spring and i harvested the seeds last weekend. I am assuming that it is not as was labelled. has it been known for obtusifolias to flower at other times.

Anyway, thanks Marcel for posting those awesome pics.

Cheers, Ob.

Gracias for the compliments, but don't thank me; thank Mother Earth. :)

Paradox: I think that you're right on target with the A. ptychoclada call. Thanks!

Trayto: Nope, not the 'gong. I'm north of Sydney.

Is Marcel his real name? I'm not so daft as to use my real name here!

There are records of obtusifolia and longifolia crossing. Spring is longifolia's time.
