naja naja Posted January 13, 2012 I was more interested in the plant itself, can't say I've ever heard of it before.Superficially resembles a peyote in so many ways, even the flowers look similar.
zelly Posted January 13, 2012 Not a hybrid, & it's a totally awesome cactus plant. Flowers are much bigger than 'yotes & baby plants tend to be spineless. Even more awesome than all of that is a fairly rare but well known cross of Toumeya papyracantha X Echinocereus knippelianus better pics at cactus-art
2Deep2Handle Posted January 13, 2012 I have had good sucess with all his seeds including lithops, angiosperms, suculents, but not so good with true cacti ie , gymocalcium species
Psylo Posted January 13, 2012 I can vouch for kenni_koala, good seed stock (for ornamental non actives that I bought recently) and fast shipping. No affilliation yada yada
Swiper Posted January 20, 2012 KK seeds for me - Pachanoi - good germination. Bridgesii - nothing. Macrogonus - nothing. Cereus peruvianus monstrose - good germination. T.Terscheckii - 50 % germination.
jimimij Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) Having a lot of trouble getting viable trich seeds, lophs havnt been a problem althought different sources vary hugely in germination rates. Does anyone know a good source for fresh trich seeds? , sowed some pach's from kenni_koala on ebay 4 days ago, nothing yet. Will try koehres in few weeks for a big order, would be good to know a good local source tho. Edited February 6, 2012 by jimimij
Evil Genius Posted February 6, 2012 Dont need to make PR for the SAB Webstore because its not necessary but Torsten has some fresh Trichocereus seeds in his store. The seed market is extremely unreliable because Karel Knize used to sell heaps of very old seed (and may still do today) but i know that there is some great seed available these days so im sure you´ll get some quality seeds when buying them over the SAB Store. Not sure what batch köhres is selling right now but last one i checked was alright. Their ID´s are extremely unrelible so i´d better buy Macrogonus/Pachanoi/Peruvianus and sow them all at the same time in diffrent containers because that would prevent you from raising a whole bunch of plants you didnt want to grow in the first place. bye Eg

Chef Posted February 8, 2012 Cereus peruvianus monstrose - good germination. Do they grow monstrose from seed or do they grow regular? (excuse my naievness )
danshaman Posted February 8, 2012 I think it would jut be seed from 2 montrose parents with maybe a higher percent of montrose won't be all montrose as it is a deffect unless you breed generations and generations you way get to that point (pleaee correct me if I'm wrong this is just a guess based on my current knowledge of cacti )
