Acacia identification - SE QLD (sunny coast)

Question

I will have up close pictures with rulers and bark pictures on monday, I have another acacia I would love to have identified too, I didn't have a camera on me today though :(

Anyone give me some rough estimates on this?

If it's too hard, I'll get some better pics on monday.

thank you :)

And the one next to it.

Also I'd like to put this here:

I'm having a magnificant time listening to it, and I'd love for everyone else too! :)

There's 1 more in another street which doesn't look good from street view, again, I'll be back monday with better pictures.

Sorry, neither look like acacia whatsoever :)

I'm thinking the yellow one is.... a cassia, possibly cassia fistula.

and the white looks like a banksia...

you'll get the hang of it soon enough :)

Thanks anyway, there's still another tree I will photograph tomorrow, unless something unexpected happens.

i dunno if many acacias with compound leaves grow around brisbane anyway. all the ones i see just have phyllodes.

easter cassia is a common weed http://www.dpi.qld.g...u/4790_7252.htm

speaking of weeds those white flowers in the latest pic look an awful lot like madeira vine. maybe it's a buckinghamia, can't see where the flowers are coming from.

Well I appreciate what you guys have tried so far, I'll still have some pics and take some sample flower/leaf home with rulers.

The google street view really doesn't show what they truely look like, but it's better than nothing, I had to try :)

Thanks again.

I better put my camera on charge now so I don't forget.

EDIT: also, if it matters, I'm on the sunny coast.

10 min drive from the beach.'

And 2 of the tree's had bark scraped from them, which led me to think also that they were acacias.

Thunderdeal, thanks for the input, I don't believe them to be easter cassia, the flowers are very different.

Tomorrow night, check back please :)

just noticed the leaves are visible in the second pic, looks like a Tabebuia and if it is then you've still got quite a bit to learn about the genus Acacia

Koelreuteria paniculata or elegans, can't tell from those photos.

Otherwise known as Golden raintree

Yep the white one certainly does look like Buckinghamia... The yellow one does look like Cassia fistula - golden shower tree :P

Yep, pretty sure you guys nailed it.

Thanks anyways, disappointing, but I I learnt something.

I'm surprised how good you guys were, going off crappy google streetview pictures, I'm surprised.

Have been doing a few pilot surveys of roadside weeds using streetview - it works surprisingly well.
