Did these little guys report back with the crosses they made or was anything else blooming at the same time so as to limit ones guesses? My day was not nearly as exciting. I grafted a few Trichocereus scopulicola x T. terscheckii as you can see. All done today and I will likely follow up with a few more of the same graft as soon as my grafting stock grows a few more inches.
Strontium Dawg Posted December 23, 2017 Nothing else was flowering at the time inyan. I did a little pollination with pachanoi and terscheckii pollen. Fingers crossed.

Inyan Posted January 3, 2018 I watched as freeze damage hit some of my cacti and assorted plants in my seedling house. Still awaiting to see the full brunt of it. Interestingly enough, those hit first were some of my specimens not in the bog.
Spanishfly Posted January 10, 2018 New year 2018 - repotted my Trichocereus pachanoi var. cristata. Bought in Sept 2016 from a Dutch outfit, Succulent Corner, good size but had very little root - I wonder if it was once grafted but had outgrown its stock. Grew hugely throughout 2017 - had to smash the pot to get it out - didn´t want to risk damaging this exceptional plant - found great root growth as well. Repotted in a nice big pot in a grittty mix.
solomon Posted January 19, 2018 (edited) Atlantean Pereskiopsis Tek. So yesterday I moved some stuff around on the top shelf in a greenhouse and apparently found the leaky spot. Big rains last night. Came home today to find this, put a couple holes in the side and watched 60L+ piss out Only two labels came out (Murray Bridge Cuzco and a Psycho0 x TPM) so that was an upside. ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted January 24, 2018 Today I took some piccies of some outdoor cacticalities.. although surprisingly few casualties to say how ever so mother fucking cold it's been around here of late - only bridgesii down (another surprise) by the looks of it and some of those bridgesii survivors are siblings of the iceslain And I told the indoor cactulula's that if they behaved well that I would unground them when the weather warms up to play with some new friends :3 while I shook one of my new shoes at them
Inyan Posted January 24, 2018 I decided to test the cold hardiness of my seedlings a bit more. Many more seedlings and grafting stock were lost, but I believe those that have made it are bound to be of a higher caliber than those that did not.
Inyan Posted January 26, 2018 Another day... another graft. Grafted a few more Trichocereus scopulicola x T. tersheckii today. Also checked on some a few older grafts I recently made of the same cross/same batch seedlings
Inyan Posted January 30, 2018 Just in case... another day... another graft. Same old same day in and day out unless I run out of grafting stock. This one is another Trichocereus scopulicola x T. terscheckii. These seedlings are phat and fat. I would be tickled pink if even one was 1/2 as thick as its daddy when it grows up. Here's hoping.

(was a test to try my hand at grafting) Was it a tip graft? If so, you may still be in the house. Give it a bit and if it only grows bigger without pupping you can always graft onto your graft making a step graft as it were. Definitely no need to remove a successful graft regardless of whether it pups or not in my book. Congrats on your graft by the way! You certainly don't want to simply toss your first graft. I learn from my grafts as I watch them grow or falter. I expect you will as well if you pay attention to your successes and failures over time. I obviously vote to keep it.

Your message that said perhaps hit it with BAP. Since it doesn't have areoles, is there anywhere on the segment I should aim for? Thnaks for the input! I have since done 2 L williamsii grafts with success (and 2 failures which I've put down to grow roots)
Inyan Posted February 25, 2018 The tip or apical growth is where you should Bap it if no visible areoles are present.
