What did you do to your cacti today?

Recommended Posts

That's a good idea.

So....

if anyone in the US has some pollen they would like to share/trade for the resulting seed, I would appreciate it.

It's my only tricho with curved spines and I'd like to cross it.

aww fangx guys :3

there's little choice tbh .. this place sucks ass for tryna grow things ..

is like being stranded on the dark side of the moon .. this north facing place.. : /

at least it has 2 hours of sun at this time of year..

was growing in a southerly facing sun room in the paradise my gramps built ,...before all that shit hit the fan a year ago in feb ..

gallery_14443_805_146292.jpg

-still desperately mourning the loss of tenuiflora, ophthalmocentra, simplex, confusa, dealbata sbsp subalpina and the heimia salicifolia .. will be good to get them back on track again at the new pad..

luckily all my over-kill precautionary noobality back then somehow equipped me for the future I was yet to know ..

-I will be using that lopher tank for germinating acacias and mimo's soon ..

unless i find an identical 2.5foot tank and "build" up an identical "Ixtlahuatl" and name this second one: "ixtla-wattle"

the cacties surviving everything pretty much just makes me love em more :3 if that's even possible fr the trichos

will be superbad when i get some made for plant growing-purple light .. hope pics will still look cool but prob way trippier :3

with any luck it'll help me join the flower club :3

and also .. ya never know , .. maybe some readers who have a lovely outdoor growery happens on an unfortunate time ,.. ends up in a small appartment ... and worried about their plants..

this at least shows they can keep up their gardening indoors if they wanna still :)

-lol and if their other half lets em :3

Now my guys have been taken out of their winter quarters I have repotted a couple. Not actually cacti, but I repotted my Lithops verruculosa and L. hookeri.

L. verruculosa has formed a rather interesting clump - structure rather like a head of broccoli.

peruvianus can be .. "Plazma" ... or perhaps Big Lez ! ...

Went to bunnings for soil.

Sat down with my eldest daugher (3) and potted up her first cactus with her.

Planted the melted wax in its pot with fertilizer then washed our hands and went on an adventure together just the 2 of us down to the $2 shop.

We got some multi coloured stones a butterfly and a turtle (she took of with mr turtle lol).

Wrote her up a plant tag and put the pot on the front verandah.

She loves it and really enjoyed the whole process probably half as much as I did. It was my favorite cactus planting to date. I really love sharing new things with her. I really love her!!!

My first cacti grafts worked. Pretty happy with that. Thanks Wert.

One looks like its flowering and the other multiplying after twoish months.

What did i do today. Looked at them and smiled.

got a reply from plaza to say they're not clones as such .. just seed grown

so after all

i've named in my mind the pachanoi 'lima plaza' , the peruvianus 'big lez' and the bridgesii settled as plazma

(but not written the labels out yet)

:3

The pachanoi is never a seedgrowen one. Look how thick this plant is. I know a few shops who selling this clone and one of all very good.

He bought his plants from the importer. This pach came strait from a nursery in lima. KK ;-)

then it shall continue to be lima ..minus the plaza

thank you :)

maybe i can keep the name big lez so far for the peruvi :3, that would be sweet ..

maybe an upgrade on the bridggy from plazma to plazmatron :3

or plaztardo n plazbo for short ... from plazmania or from plaz-to-seen

cant wait to find one to call dark horse from taquimbohemia

just so i know who's who :)

maybe the remaining above 2 .. already have names :o

and off i'd better trot to school and then with my intrepid warriors ... go grab some new keys for 22 acacia avenue (unless i think of a better name)
