mutant Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) awesome grafting job! show off more! are there in a grow room with lights? what kind of setup? how come you put many grafts in the same pot? Edited March 28, 2012 by mutant
bossos Posted March 28, 2012 mutant, it's so easy if you patient and skillful in this case "grow room'" is mini nursery (about 1'x2.5'x1.5') with 4 Grow Light, Sylvania Gro-Lux F14T8/GRO 14 watt; temperature is about 32o C inside common view: how come you put many grafts in the same pot? more of the cuttings and off-sets were potted after I did the first grafts (five in a 7x7 pot, 9 in a 9x9 pot) This process is continuous in its repeatability after 2-3 weeks they will be moved outdoor (in Europe is still early spring), I will make new pictures (if you are interested in this)
mutant Posted April 8, 2012 thanks yeah I would love to see more photos especially more close ups what kind of soil do you use for pere? I am in europe too and sometimes I too do multiple grafts in different stocks in the same pot. I am not so skilled as you, but I have been playing with grafts for couple years now and loving it. you should try selinicereus as a stock also, my pereskiopsis grafts are acclimatized and hardy enough so that they are kept in my roof, exposed to the winter
2Deep2Handle Posted April 14, 2012 bossos...please man...i need more of your photos....ive already fapped too many times just over the ones uve already put up....... I want to know more about this room in particular.....whats it made out of? is it an actual room? is it inside? 4 separate lights? or quad T8? what lengths are the flouros? i assume their straight globes as they are T8 and not T5.... I use 3 x 48 watt Nelson 5700k U-shape CFL for proper light, and my grafts sit under a 14w 2ft T8 (i need a 4ft) fish tank light. This sound alright..? ill add some pics....im forever trying to get my cacti setup dialled....and everytime i do....its grown to big, and i have to make a new home for them....

whitewind Posted May 25, 2012 it's so easy if you patient and skillful So what do you do as a hobby then ? Your skills are very professional, clean, neat, healthy. Very impressed, and welcome - welcome so long as you share your secrets freely! I'm not a great cactus grafter, there are many here who are truly awesome, but I don't think I have ever seen so many crammed in to one small space. Those are some inspiring pictures, for sure.
2Deep2Handle Posted May 27, 2012 (edited) Taken today. Sowed 9th December 2011. Grafted 27th December 2011. I had 2 going along until about 3 months ago i accidently knocked one off which has already rooted and stared growing again and is much bigger than its seedling counterparts. Cops 1inch bottom feed of pretty strong miracle grow every 3rd-4th day. Seasol once a fornight, also bottom feed. Undercover always. Filtered full light, with the occaisonal few hours of 48watt CFL (210watt equiv)) 5000k Nelson Bulb/s (sometimes it goes under a home-made deck of 4 of em). I also try and move it onto hot concrete while im home. Was/is my first ever peres graft, and was done for the comp! gilligan Posted June 4, 2012 Well, I'm on hols as of tomorrow, so I got plenty of time to sort these pics out. My grafts are goig pretty well, dot think any sign of flowers yet, but will see tonight. Got a heap of grafts cranking now... Hoping I can make it to a grafted ario flower, thats my goal now... Grafting of lophs are too easy (sorry, sounds wankish, but I've only had one fail in the last 100 or so)... :-)
GoOnThen Posted June 4, 2012 Grafting of lophs are too easy (sorry, sounds wankish, but I've only had one fail in the last 100 or so)... :-) Nice one wanker I think I got a bit confident for a bit and had heaps fail or are slow. Going back to basics with my technique and making sure my stock is a good length and healthy seems to have helped. I also went back and read teo's grafting book and Watertrades vid was a good refresher as well. Come an you lot its time to show were you are at. If you have them post them Cheers Got
Ethos Posted June 9, 2012 These are my most healthy grafts And here are some recent grafts (grafted 28th May) and my biggest a caes which was sown start of november and was grafted a couple of days before christmas I wish I had the variety Bossos has and 2deep that graft is so plump

GoOnThen Posted June 12, 2012 Sheeeeeeet mate you have been giving those ario's some loven. They are huge compared to mine. Your loph's look like they are starting to crank now as well. Every ones pere stock are looking more healthy than mine I might have to raise the humidity on my shelves a bit.......... I will get some pics of mine up soon Cheers Got
Ethos Posted June 12, 2012 yah gill your ario's look sweet and that loph with fur tufts is a monster when was it grafted? I repotted my grafts and my TBM today and also transplanted around 50 seedlings of ariocarpus fissuratus, loph williamsii, loph williamsii caes, and what i believe are some J3 x psycho0 seedlings. All the grafts are now settling in to their new home for the rest of winter at an average temp of 28 degrees, they're loving it! Ethos
